found out why my bike was making the woosh woosh sound every time it turned over
im just releived(sp?) that it wasnt a valve or a hole in the exhaust manifold
but im not even gonna start to think of the little bits of metal that could have been dropped down into the cylinder

Looks like all the bits are there so I doubt you have anything to worry about metal in the cylinder. So what torque you been doing that up to so that it breaks? I can't say I have ever seen a plug do that before in my long life. I've seen broken porcelain top ends but never a busted threaded bit. Stripped threads in the alloy head is the usual screw up.

im usually giving them an 1/8th turn after they go finger tight...im thinking i must have gone over it twice...
it had also been like that for a while judgeing by the burn marks up one side of the plug, it was also a brand new plug - less than 10 hours or so of riding on it

You must be a bit of a tin-arse, if I tried it I would end up with a screwdriver tip inbedded in the mess!!!

I've had a plug do that - correct torque too. Blew the plug out and off the cap.
