I think my one was screwed on too tight by the previous owner - the top seems to be splitting away from the screw on part. Does anyone have one spare lying around? I'll be happy to throw a few dollars and some postage to anyone who can help. Worth a shot :D
Or does anyone know the best way to fix it? Will a plastic welders be able to do anything with it?
Thought I'd ask here before trawling too many shops, I've exhausted the CHCH shops and have only had one quote for $44 for a new cap :shit:
Cheers!

Personally I would nip down to your local hardware store and find a bolt of the same size and get it cut short to fit.

Excuse the fact that I'm quite mechanically inept .. isn't a bolt just a screw (technically?)? I don't understand how it would cover the hole, doesn't it need to screw over the hole?

I assume we are talking about the cap in the attached pictures?
If so, it is simply a threaded hole - a suitable sized bolt would work fine - assuming it was not too long. I would even put a washer on it.

Excellent, I'll definitely look into that, cheers :)
*Edit* Actually, it screws over the hole, not into like that one does. I would give you some pictures but my old school camera isnt compatible with my new laptop/vista
*Edit again* I've been told to say it's a 2-stroke Oil tank/resevoir .. if thats any help!

This is an oil tank, not a 4-stroke sump sort of arrangement. Think of a small fuel cap.
