As some of you know my TLR is for sale on TM.... I ticked every box when listing it, this included highlighted combo and home feature. As you know this is not cheap. I believe that I have not got what I payed for.

Can a couple of you guys check my ad and tell me what you think? I could be wrong.

Thanks guys..

Looks like a standard ad to me. No sign of it in featured listings.
Dont think the extra money was worth it.
Nice work on the shift lever tho:)

its just not bike season mate.
that and its been dropped puts people off.
Price looks good, you pay about 8-9 for a mint one these days.
good luck with it

What I am concerned about is that I paid $39 for a homepage feature. I thought the home page listings were highlighted more than mine is..

I may just be paranoid...

Oh and I thought you were just trying to draw attention to your ad through this forum..... Silly me. :msn-wink:

Just my thoughts - why tell everyone you've had to rebuild the gearbox on a bike that’s travelled just over 50000ks, the first thought people have is “It must have been thrashed to need rebuilding that early, or raced”
If there’s nothing wrong with the gearbox then I wouldn’t even mention it
Your list of damage could put people off as well, I would repair the barend, gearshift and mirror – that will reduce the list of damage, and shouldn’t cost too much.
Just my ideas for what it's worth.

Im pretty sure that is a standard ad. hit them up for a refund.

It's 'featured' on the Sports page but not on the Motorcycles page.

Personally I don't think it's worth 'featuring' as that's only for trawlers, not people looking for a particular bike.

Not everyone knows what bike they want next ;)

Not all that worried if it sells, will be parked at my mates place till I get back.

As far as the gearbox etc...that's just me. I always make a point of being as honest as possible even if it costs me a sale. You can also look at it the other way. The whole motor has been stripped down and checked out and all internals were A OK.

But............I reckon that if I had got the home page feature etc it should have a yellow border around the ad and should come up before other ads.

If you type in TL1000R my second hand swingarm shows up above it!

When you look at it, feature combo..$24. Homepage..$39. auction fee if over $1000...$39.

$102 !

Yeah I know stupid me...

Don't worry about the repairs, I'll give you the $102 and take it off your hands.

Maybe pics in the daylight would be better?? Other than that, seems like nothing wrong with your ad. Except that TM is full of people who want a bargain. You'll have people looking at the $6K start, and hoping they will get you down to $4K.

Its just hard to sell bikes at this time of year. I've only had a few people call me up about my bike on trademe and I thought it would be easy to sell. If anyone wants a cheap SRAD 750 look here:

Sorry to burst your bubble mate but your lack of sale has nothing to do with the time of year. Ive been following the market daily for some time now. The only reason yours hasn't sold yet is the price. Another chap on TM has had his 95 sem fiddy with just 12,000km's (documented) for the same price. Yours has a shade under 80,000km's on it man

Not to mention it was once a race bike. Not everyone is keen on a bike thats been messed with. Your target market will decrease considerably.

You may be right but remember that it only has 15000km since being rebuilt and has lots of go fast bits and full spare trackday fairing etc.

Yeah that certainly is a good bonus but as mentioned the market for ex race bikes with high km's that's been messed with is always going to be slim pickin's :crybaby:

No doubt its a great bike

That price is spot on, plastics cost piss all from the states
Gearbox rebuild, just means that they're buying one with gears and internals that've already been checked, rather than one thats just coming up to that expensive part.

At what point is it being a racebike mentioned?
Your other TL (now sold??) was the yoshi one i thought, not this one

Yoshi one sold ages ago. This one sold just after the auction closed for $6000.

Priced about right me thinks. Thanks for your thoughts anyway guys....:done:
