i've tried many a site but it's a hard model to find the book for.
maybe some one out there's got one tucked under a pile of mags some where.
if you know of one give me a holla.

What's wrong with your forks? I have a set for sale on TM - they are pitted a bit but were working OK. No one seems to want them - cheap - for half whatever I listed them at. The seals are out so would need new ones. Will take a closer look at them later.

And watch your costs - I can't seem to stop spending money on mine.

rusty forks and heaps of pitting, the rust is tooo deep.
as for the money, i got a part time job thats worth $50 a fortnight for the bike so its gonna take a while, but i've wanted to do one up for donkeys years, so i'm not to worried how much she's gonna cost as long as i can ride her while i tidy her up. would love to get her back to original.
keeping track of the dollars so far, it dosen't take long to add up.

You don't really need a manual for this bike unless it is detailed engine stuff. Spend your money on tools instead.

dino3310

it's mainly for the engine work that i'll need it for.

G'Day mate, I saw one a couple of weeks ago on Pirate Bay. You can download the stuff there for free. To download something you need a torrent program which you can download for free as well and it takes only a couple of minutes. You do not have to register for both websites.
1. www.bitcomet.com (Torrent)
2. www.thepiratebay.org (File share )

I am still looking for a 1993 Suzuki DR250 manual. If you see one pls. let me know.

More photos are required.

How is the zorst. I had a Super Trap (I think they were called) on mine. It had disks that you could add an remove. I used to take out disks for longer trips and put them in for beach sessions. Bit too loud though.

the exaust is pretty good, i'm pretty sure it's the original apart from some home made heat sheilds.
i would have to cut it open to alter it, but she aint broken so i aint touching it. even though i'm tempted to work it i'll try to keep her as close to original as i can.
when i get the new side covers i'll post up some picks.
gotta try and find some original stickers for it too.

how's that thumper doing, last i heard you were having some work done to it.

9th July 2008, 13:56
yeah yeah i know,i'm trying. she's gona be looking rough for her debut but i'll
definately try 2 be there even if just for a day ride.

dino3310
12th July 2008, 14:22
bike went into shop yesterday should be back next week and ready to roll.:done:
when she get's back i'll take her out for a day ride to see how she run's.
might do a run around all the waikato wreckers to try and find a rack, would be interesting to find how the old girl will do on the gas/ltrs per 100klm as she's got a bloody small tank. when i can sus out a rack i'll strap a 10ltr on her for the longer trips.
it's gona take a while for me to get all the gear and get her up to a standard i'd be more comfortable with,
but she'll do for now.:scooter:

dino3310
20th July 2008, 15:07
bugga she was ment to be back for a ride this weekend but she failed the WOF, bloody swingarm and rear wheel bearing's.
oh well i'll just have to wait another week, she's in the shop so i'll let the mechanic get it sorted.
man i've got itchy feet, my arse is getting soft sitting at this computer all the time when i should be out riding.

Try this dude " if you hav'nt yet" he may have a reproduction of your model. He has one for the the 1980 DR400T and S.
e-classicbike@xtra.co.nz

I have a DR400T with all the NOS bits ready to rebuild took me ages to get all those NOS bits. I love riding the old girl nice and lite compared to my
TT500's

Good luck with the rebuild.

dino3310
22nd July 2008, 08:47
cheers mate, i'm starting to find it quite costly all the little bits soon add up.
But she's worth it, great bike's the DR series.

dino3310
21st August 2008, 15:35
she's been out of the shop for two weeks now. i've done the kawhia trip and a few runs around town and she went absolutely farkin awesome.
only prob is she dont hold much fuel, i carried a 5ltr fuel can on the back but thats just taking up much needed room so if anyone knows of an aftermarket over sized tank that will fit the ole girl give me a yell.

Bought another ride to cope with the gear and some 2 up riding so now the old girls up for sale, seeing how i borrowed the $$$$ for the new bike the misses wants the old one sold to help get the loan down a little quicker.
sad to see her go but the timings all wrong for a restore project, maybe pick one up at a later stage.
