Well,....

The chain went on today.
Numbers were placed on as was tank badges.
Made up the seat pad and glued that on.
She got an extra polish also.

Then,.....it was her first ride,..up and down the street. Seems to ride okay, not very grunty but I put that down to the new tight motor.

All I have to do now is sort the front-end out, ie bleed the brakes fully and get the wheel spacers on place.
Also have to do some plastic sliders as required.

Looking good for the next meeting (which will also have my XR out there too !!)

Ah... sorry - my eyes have come right now.
It was just the visual impact of all that violent violet paintwork.

ah okay....
Was Nasty's idea for the colour. I wanted something MOTOGPish, but my fellow team-partner wanted purple.
Could be worse, could have done the frame and wheels in the same colour !!

Its was your wifes idea... and I agreed as its the original colour of the bike ... also the Grubby one agreed ... he likes keeping things as original as possible sometimes!

And it IS distinctive. Parker is probably going to do this season in his sky blue, not sure what our other team bike(s) will be initially (..watch this space...)

There's always a bright side ... it could be worse ... they could have been Kawasaki Green

Team Skunk's have been very helpful to us, particularily the GL-145 motor jig.
So, you should be more respectful, Mr Grub !!!
Learn to cut them off on the track instead.....:devil2: :jerry:

Oh I already know how to do that. I did it to F5 Dave and Fishy ... but they didn't seem to appreciate it?

You are far too easy to ride around Grub.

Green is for GO!
All other colours are a variation on Stop.

Back bait...

fark, who am I kidding, there were definatly a couple of "oh shit" moments where the sphinkter did that good ole 50cent-5cent-50cent-5cent piece thing.. Something to do with hitting oppsite lock with the peg starting to dig in

Ya put on an awesome display, Sketchy, that's for sure !!!

Did a service on the XR including oil change tonight.
Also did some "bucketising" to it, ie plastic sliders.

Next is something which will grip better than knobblies on it, then she's ready.
Just have to finish off Lady P now.

Alrighties,...more updates on Lady P

Put some plastic sliders on her.
Front wheel spacers are in place.
Fixed the dragging brakes issue I had.

I went for a weee burn around the block on Sunday.
Mrs Nudie said she could hear it for quite a way....oops....
Impressions are that it's not particularily grunty until you rev it harder, but that could be the new tight motor still.
Also a bit too tall-geared but not too worried as the next meeting will be a development meeting for the bucket, plus to run her in also.

Still have to bleed the front brake a bit more but basically she's race-ready.

I'd find a smaller front, cheap & will make a huge diff to acceleration to be geared right for a tight track. Won't learn anything if can't get out of 2/3rd.

nudemetalz
8th May 2008, 09:34
It came standard with a 17, so I got a 14, the smallest I can get that will fit.
Did make a difference but will need a bigger rear sprocket now.

nudemetalz
13th May 2008, 20:49
okay,....today I relented....I bought a bigger rear sprocket for Lady P

She has a 55 tooth now in place of the 45 tooth. That should make a difference to the gearing !!!

Also, the XR now has Shinko road tyres on her.

Sketchy_Racer

errr..yup...they're unique alright :)

Power advantage ?? umm,...I s'pose
I think KDX200's put out about 37hp and the XR250R puts out about 29-30 (apparently).
