Big hills, some of the best fun you can have on a dirt bike. These extreme hills (the USA has a number of them) are really hard and therein lies the challenge. Yep, some do make it to the top, not too many though.

Freaking sweet! A lot of those engines don't sound like thumpers, they sound like multis -- anybody know?

Im sure one of those multi sounding bikes was a Honda 4 cyl, 80s vintage?
talkin bout the one that did the wickedly fast flip off the rise before the main hill bit, second clip.

There is coverage on the Widow Maker hill climb in the biking doco/movie "On Any Sunday".
Its pretty old, ie: 1970-80s but its still relevant :)

i still remember the quote from that movie,
"with chains on his tyres and XXXXX fuel in his tank Jo-blogs was the first person the stand atop of the widowmaker"
well some of the movie anyway, might just have to watch it again to refesh the noggen.
