I was just out washing the bike so it will be all spiffy for the next week or so, and noticed all the air had gone out of the bottom of the front tyre. The air is still in the top and sides of the tyre so its ok right?

Anyway, if I take the wheel off and take it to Cycletreads tomorrow morning ( Monday ) is there a reasonable chance they will fix it while I wait? or will they say come back this arvo? Shouldn't take more than abour 15mins to repair?? I need it fixed cos its my only way to work ( too far to walk ). Looks like I'll have to take a Maori day off tomorrow and take it in.

Likely they'll do it while you wait, just a simple matter of taking they tyre off and putting a new tube in.

Cost me $35 all up from Mt Eden, about 20 minutes.

If they're flat-out, though (wouldn't have thought so with this weather), who knows -- just call them up. I'm sure they'll tell you.

Learn to do it yourself and save $20. But you can't buy a decent set of tyre levers for 20 bucks so that blows that theory :)

Crow bar and a decent sized slot screwdriver? Oh and some plastic bits to protect the rim:Oops:

GB250s, like CB250RSs, have godawful narrow aluminium spoked rims with a weirdy bead that make getting the tyre on without pinching the tube and making it bead modern tyres a real pain in the arse.

Definitely make the Cycletreads guy do it, save yourself an afternoon and megabucks for new tubes :laugh:

Thanks Xerxesdaphat definitley sounds like a job for the shop guys, that way if they fuck the rim it costs them megabucks for a new one, not me!! I'd forgotten about the inner tube, got so used to tubeless tyres. It's been too long since I had a car with wire wheels....

Just take it into them on Monday morning. They do repairs straight away, while you peruse the shop!
The busy times like Thursday PM & Weekends you might have to wait a little while.

Why didnt you just roll the bike forward to the air filled spot

:doh: Why didn't I think of that?

Anyway, I took the wheel off this morning and took it in at 9:45ish. Went next door and got a WOF for the cage, and when I came back at 10:10 all :done: and balanced sweet. Grand total of $25. Top job. Happy with that. They only had one guy working the grease pit too.

Well done Cycletreads. :clap::niceone::first:
