Best modification-friendly bike shop?

I want to swap the bars over to clipons, get some new levers, and some braided brake lines

Given that there aren't many official aftermarket parts for the Hyo, I figured I'd do some research myself, find appropriate parts, and then take them to a shop to have everything fitted correctly.

All up, I expect that I'd need:

Clipons
New grips
Bar ends
New levers (maybe a new master cylinder to match?)
Braided brake lines - which I might order through the shop.
New clutch cable and throttle cable, as they'll need to be shorter..again this should be pretty standard I assume.

I bought the bike, and get services done at Red Baron, but they've never seemed particularly approachable about customisation etc....

So where would people picks be to try and get this done?....In Auckland of course

I Have the same problem no one seem to wants to help with doing mods around these ways, they all say the smae thing " it only a 250 save your money" well how about I don't care im the one riding it can you help or not. They don't seem to like that,
And then when you do the mods your self they wana no how, when, what. arrgghhh

But mind you Disenfranchised your arnt exactly extensive mods, cycle treads will do the braided lines, Clip ons you should be able to do your self?? same with bar end and levers none of thats hard at all.

do it yourself mate. The cables should be sweet, if not you can have ones made up for pretty cheap.

Clip ons are easy to find, levers should be a peice of cake too.

I'd suggest do everything bar the brake lines yourself

If you want clip ons i still have my zxr ones im pretty sure the hyosung ones are the same thickness....

I still have all the throttle housing and everything related, PM me with an offer, i'm not too fussed...

No need for new lever and master cylinders though just swap over your existing ones, they are all the same thickness matey.

I'm trying to find levers for mine at the moment. I want some blackones, but I haven't found anything that fits yet. Let me know of you have any luck. The levers are a piece of piss to change over too.

Cycletreads changed my Grips over for me, cost $25 including the grips. took about 5 mins.

I was mostly worried about the cables when changing the levers...do you just need to change the length of them, and if so how...and what's the correct tension??

By thickness do you mean they're for the same size fork tubes?
Or that the bar thickness is the same for the levers etc..?

If your just changing the levers, you you don't need to change the cables at all.

Both mate, all bars are the same thickness

and the fork tubes should be the same diameter. you are welcome to come have a look. im in mt wellington, east auckland.

If you need help doing the brake lines let me know, I put braided front lines on my old GTR250, no problems at all.

Went and inquired at Mt Eden Motorcycles today...cause they are just up the road from my work.

They seemed happy to do anything I wanted, including me sourcing some parts (as long as they are legal and safe)
Gave my bike a bit of a look over and let me know all the problems I might have....such as:
Clipons would have to have their bolts positioned so as to not interfere with the headlight bracket.
New lever would definitely mean new master cyclinder.
Need to think about the mirrors if I change levers...probably to bar ends (not my favourite style)

They gave me prices for ordering parts too, and an estimate on the brake lines.
Hyosung standard clipons are $200 each, but I could get a pair of fully adjustable italian aftermarket ones for $250 instead.
2x front brake lines plus fitting would be around $300...which seemed pretty good to me.

So I'm going to have a shop around for clipons, mirrors and levers...see what I can get.
