View Full Version : Why KBers are so great - WARNING slightly mushy

Just wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am to all the KBers who have been concerned about me after I got hit on the head on Monday at work, resulting in head and neck injuries. From comments in the thread, private messages, and chatting on MSN, these people (many of whom have never met me), have made a valuable contribution to my state of mind. There are 3 KBers I would like to say a special thank you to:
Firefight for coming round to check up on me and for offers of assistance.
Backfire for taking my car for its WOF and bringing round milk etc.
AJTurbo who was so concerned after I went offline suddenly after complaining of feeling very unwell, (and ending up in hospital again), that he bundled his son and dogs into his van, and drove from Tauranga to Auckland to look after me. They spent 3 days with me, sleeping on my couches, cooked and cleaned, generally kept me entertained, and asked for nothing in return. And to top it all off he took me to the Ducati shop to give me the incentive to hurry up and get better!!!
It amazes me to realise what deep bonds we get through this site just because of our love of motorbikes. Just goes to show that bikers are the most amazing people and I am very touched by the level of concern shown not just to me, but to everyone else on this site. :niceone: Thanks everyone. :grouphug: You all rock! :headbang:

Monster 620 - I think it will be good step up from 250. Was thinking about 800, but I don't like the new colour schemes for them, and they're $3000 more. Better to use the money I save on accessories!!!!

mmmm nice choice, it has to be matt grey, or bright red, yellow for a third choice.... and that 3 grand can go towards a exhaust system :niceone: ive heard from loosebruce that it is illegal to have a v-twin and no aftermarket pipes....

Red is the only way to go. And exhaust system is compulsory. I'll probably turn into Lynda Blair's apprentice!!!!!

Here's a related story in the Weekend Herald (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/index.cfm?ObjectID=9003754). When I see stories like this, I think of the fantastic people of Visordown.com that I've met, and who helped me out in inumerable ways, during my two holidays to England, and who I've also had come stay with me over the last 5 years, and I wonder why they think it's strange enough to be newsworthy.
And the same things happen here all the time. :)
I didn't hear about your work injury, Riff Raff, but I'm not altogether surprised at AJTurbo and others actions to help you out, or Firefighters numerous acts of generosity and assistance, and the other offers of hospitality & assistance I've seen on this site.
I'm just pleased to be part of 3 wonderful communities on the internet. :grouphug:
Get well soon, eh?

That's cos it was hidden within the 'another midweek ride' thread. Basically it was someone mucking around who hit me on the head from behind with more force than he intended, in the wrong spot, and the wrong angle resulting in damage to my neck.
