We have been in touch with the Marketing Manager for the Westpac Helicopter in Auckland and she is fully supportive of this event.
This is not a mass group ride, but, an opportunity for us all to raise funds for the Helicopter and bring awareness of the Cheese Cutter Barrier back into the public eye.
Anyone that is within a good riding distance of any of the nominated Bike Shops, then we urge you to be there. This is at the end of June so there is a heap of time.
Other Regional Collection Rides will be organised for the same day. My event is for the upper North Island.
There will TWO Spot Prize of $100 worth of Petrol Vouchers (Auckland Event only) when you donate, your name be will written next to a number, and a number will be drawn at the end of the day. The winner's will be notified and the vouchers sent the next day.
If the first stop time does not suit anyone, theres always the other end of the day at Machanics Bay ( Westpac Helicopter Base)
Any Cheese Cutter questions please refer here... http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=72693

I have had a talk to Chanceyy and MSTRS over the last few days about this.
I whole idea is to involve all of New Zealand on June 28th.
Westpac have rescue Helicopters in Auckland/Waikato/Wellington and Christchurch.
We will have the top half of the North Island covered, and Palmerston North was nominated as the best place to gather for the lower half.
So if someone can jump in (Chanceyy? MSTRS?) add their spin on things that would be wonderful.
I know that some areas do not have a Westpac Helicopter but that does not matter, raise money for your own Rescue Helicopter. If it ends up being Westpac then I will let the area it covers know about what is going on.

yes in Palmerston North its the Square trust helicopter rescue
was a thought that riders from Wanganui, Hastings/Napier, Danniverke, Pahiatua , Levin could converge on Palmerston north, depends if wellington want to come up to palmerston or organise one down that way to raise funds and awareness for the cheesecutter campaign
others thoughts ??

Had a similar comment from the Westpac Lady, she said ''dont know about acccepting money from other areas'' until it was pointed out that...''we are bikers, we may need the services of a Rescue Helicopter in any area, we dont just ride in Auckland''
She replied..........''Good Point''

Someone in Christchurch to organise top half of the South Island?
A 2-3 hour ride is not asking to much, we will be out for about 8 1/2 hours covering just over 500 kms.
Dunedin perhaps? For the lower half.
Any one want to step forward? Feel free to pm me for any help I can give.

We made ours from ribbon I bought at the local emporium. Ties on and leaves some trailing ribbon to flap around in the breeze as you ride along.

All good Jiminy, if enough Lower North Islanders can arrange themselves to do this is it will be awesome.
All being well both my wife and myself will be there, if the ride is at a reasonable pace between points
IE no more than 80 kph we will try to do the whole run
I have distance mapped out and the times I want to be in each city, the 'average' speed is 80kph.
I want to tag along for the whole day too. See you on the day. Rain or shine doesn't bother me.
If the weather is real crap, I may postspone till the following weekend, turn out will be 'not the best' if its a shocker.

cool idea Mark, see you there :Punk:
i reckon a cooler idea would be to donate each regions takings to their respective helicopters, http://www.rescue.org.nz/tauranga/index.php as these smaller provinces arent nearly as well funded as the auckland region.
just a thought, either way i will be there :sunny:
That was the plan, if I made it sound like all money raised goes to Auckland then thats not correct. Each Regional ride will be collecting for thier own Area, What I am doing is for Auckland only. If at any other time, someone wants to organise something similar out of Hamilton or Tauranga then I will support that. But a Hamilton collection (for instance) would have to go out of their area to make it worth the while. Thats the way I see this panning out. Bikers outside the Auckland area, do ride up this way, if they ever need a Rescue Helicopter? It will be the Westpac.
Good Plan, Im in for the ride and help.
I will stick it on Sportsbike.co.nz to get our crew (HEY SOME ARENT ON KB LOL) into it.
Good stuff Quasi.... bikers from areas outside of the nominated collection points can come in, thats the way I see this succeeding. I will support any future organised Rescue Fund Raiser ride form outside the Auckland area. I may need help one day by any of the Helicopters in the link that nodrog posted.

A couple of pm's have been sent to others in the Regions that can also do this, including the South Island. Yet to contact someone in the Lower South to organise that area. All this to take place on the same day and donate to the Nominated Helicopter of your choice. Where ever you may be, it doesn' t really matter, someday you may need the services of any Regional Rescue Helicopter...thats the message!

to average 80 mean we will have to travel quite a bit faster than 80 kph past WRB's perhaps we need to allow a bit more time between stop points so as not shorten each stop over where the message will be put out to any press that may show up.

look out for a thread by the weekend .. I would appreciate any ideas .. The initial idea would be to converge on Palmerston North from all areas around late morning venue to be sorted but have something in mind.. head out for a hour or two long ride (as those in the palmy area would not have ridden anywhere) converge back again gather signatures for the cheesecutter campaign (for those who have not signed previously .. cost $10 per rider ..
so we do not clog up this thread can you pm me your idea's & once I have the thread up & running we can discuss it in there ..

Proud to be able to help out in anyway with such a great cause.
BTW Maha's...the sooner I recieve the flyers the sooner I can create a donation box at work so I can collect some pre-donations from the punters.
Will also take a ride over to Okororie(The Office) when able, and drop off a collection box there too.

This is Primarily a Westpac Rescue Helicopter Fundraiser.
And an opportunity to raise WRB awareness at the same time.
The Cheesecutter part of it is important.
There will be no time for us to stand around and push the WRB message verbally on the day.
This ride covers just over 500km and has been timed to ensure we complete each leg on or about the posted times.
Auckland/Tauranga.... time allowed 2 hours
Tauranga/Rotorua.... time allowed 1 hour
Rotorua/Hamilton.... time allowed 1.5 hours
Hamilton/Auckland... time allowed 1.5 hours
Half hour stop at each Bike Shop...8.5 hours from Auckland to Auckland.
We live 1 hour north of Auckland and that time is not accounted for.
We are relying on others to support this and help where/how they can.

ill be keeping an eye out chanceyy.
I have put alot of thought into this, and the reason why I have stated that there will no more than a group of 10 bikes in the main collection ride is that, due to the tight time frame, any more than that would be to hard to to keep together. We are wanting all others to choose which Bike Shop would best suit to be at when we get there. This is going to be a Nation Wide Event with other rides being organised in the lower North Island and in the South Island as well. We have had contact from an insider at the New Zealand Herald and a press release will be put together ASAP...
Im looking forward to what the other Regions come with and once they are sorted, we will get in touch with the Herald.
More updates as they happen....thank you....Mark

Contacting your Regional Rescue Helicopter and letting them know whats going would be the first thing on the 'to do' list.
Also, if you read what the others are to then you can an idea/s as to what you can organise. The links are on the 2nd post in my thread.
Its not strictly for KBers, its for all bikers to support so getting in touch with any Bike shops and putting a Flyer/Poster in their windows is another idea.
Any help you require? just ask.........Mark
I emailed Leanne Frisbie (Westpac Helicopter) yesterday and let her know how things were shaping up, including the Manawatu/Canterbury Fundraisers and here is the reply.
Hi Mark, that's fantastic.
I'll pop your flier on our website.
Let us know if you need any other assistance.
I've cc'd Bec Williams from Westpac in this also, as Westpac might be keen to get involved in some way, if so Bec will be in touch.
Thanks so much for your support,
Kind regards,
Leanne.
Another $100 worth of Petrol Vouchers has been added to the draw.
Thats two Draws to made at the conclusion of the Fundraiser.

Seems the deep south are not too interested in this. At least 3/4 of NZ are into it.
Yes this Event has really got an overwhelming amount of support. So much as been done over the last few days (now that we have almost all the imfo we need) all the bike shops that we are visting have been re-contacted since my initial phone call a few weeks ago. They now have a real good idea on what is happening and are doing their bit on supporting both sides of whats happening on June 28. I am quite blowen away really on how this little thought I had about a month ago has turned out. There are so many people to thank at this point but its not over yet. Anne has done a suppurb job over the last couple of days on the organising front, its has been quite outstanding really. Just a few loose ends to tie up and we will be set.
Here is the other half of the equation

Anything arranged for Waikato riders other than turn up at the shop??????????? I'm only a newbie to the area and thought a group ride or something would have been arranged??????
I have had to answer some questions about this event (as in, the areas we are covering) and it seems that how this is all going to work doesn't really gel with some, until I explain in detail then it becomes clear.
The main qestion put to me is...''is the money collected form each area (Auckland Loop only) going to the area its collected from''?
Answer... No, all money collected (from the areas we visit) will be going to the Westpac Helicopter in Auckland.
If there is any concerns about this event that you may have just ask me.

Now im confused
Listen very carefully grasshopper.....
First quote: was reffering to all collections Nationwide....answer is NO
Second quote:... (the more recent of the two) needs no expaining...answer is YES.
All money that the Auckland '10' collect WILL be given to the Auckland Helicopter.
I had a plan right from day one and to now have all but Southland getting into this, its amazing. All other region's are doing something for their Resuce Helicopter and what they have acheived so far is outstanding. We just need to finalise the media coverage now and watch out for the July issue of Motorcycle Trader!!!...Kiwi Rider hasn't (at this stage) returned our email.
I need some help!
Rashika has produced the most amazing flyer for this ride! Maha man compares it as a fine art graduate to a kindy finger painting, mine being the finger painting!
I need some kind people in Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua and Hamilton to offer up a bit of time to go and put these flyers up for me. I would do it but distance is a bit of an issue really. I am happy to colour copy some and send down to you.
I am really looking forward to being overwhelmed by offers of help!
Thanks guys!
Just beeen speaking to Shane from Motorcycle Trader (Deputy Editor) and he is very supportive of this Event. He also wants to be apart of our main core bunch of riders so I have added his name to the list.
He will get something in the July issue promoting all rides on June 28th and a full feature writeup article in the August issue...

You are becoming a bit of an expert now oh tarty one! This is going to be a goody! I have received a heap of parliament contacts by email today and will construct a few well chosen words this weekend to send to a few of them.
Due to unforeseen circumstances Toaster is now no longer able to make this ride so, there is a spot open for anyone who wants to step up and take part.
Pm's have sent out to all those listed on the first post as the main bunch.
We have spoken to Shane from Motorcycle Trader also and he will be there.
I know of two that wont be there because of prior engagements and DEATH_INC has kindly stepped into the vacant spot due to Toasters off over the weekend. The objective of this meeting is to spell out how June the 28th will unfold and what each of the 10 riders can do to help it run smoothly as possible.

Great news Scorpygirl...there is a core bunch of 10 bikes on this ride. We had a meeting on Sunday about how this will all pan out. I understand there will be others that will do the whole ride, we cant stop that and wont, it will be an awesome day theres no doubting that. The 10 will all be in fluro vests and we have a tight schedule to keep to. Anyone that joins us will do the ride without passing any of the 10. If they want to go on ahead or take a different route than us, then thats fine. It would be fantastic to have a bunch at Hamilton to ride back to the Base with. A mass gathering at the Helicopter Base would cap it off nicely...if anyone wants to get onto the base they need to register...http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/calendar.php?do=getinfo&ea=attend&e=1640

To be honest, the more that come, the better, we are more visible!
But I will again re-iterate the main group of us need to be able to stay together and get on with it, some of the times for the legs aren't gonna leave anything for farking around. Come along, but please give us a bit of a wide berth, and if ya crash / break down etc I'm afraid you're on ya own :)
Actually, on that subject, anyone with a fastish pursuit vehicle may be a bonus....

Cool as, good try that man! I had a big talk to the Marketing Manager from Westpac Bank today, she is offering up a couple of hoodies and some other stuff TBA for spot prizes for our ride. She is also really keen to supply things like helicopter money boxes etc to the other rides as well as ours, she could not have been more willing to give.
She is also going to be helping get the message out to the media nationally by getting her press guru's to formulate an official press release supporting all the rides! I am buzzing, this is going to HUGE!

Whats a Cheese Cutter ?
Crazy Steve..
It is a Wire Rope Barrier that divides some roads around the country, it also is increasingly being used to stop vehicles running off the side of the road. It has the ability to sever human bodies into two pieces at speed, and heaven help us take arms off at 70 kph.
Suggest you read here

I, off my own bat have managed to get two articles (albeit small ones - an almost direct copy and paste of my press release) in Motorcycle Trader & News and Kiwi Rider magazine, we have the deputy editor of Motorcycle Trader along on our ride. He will be reporting on the whole ride nationwide!
My first press release has been sent to print, radio and TV. Only Two national publications have picked up on it so far, both Motorcycle related. History tells us that a story is only good when it is HOT! So, I will send another press release out this week to more of the same publications/Radio/Newspapers/TV stations, this time it will be supported by the Westpac Bank! Cant hurt the cause and with any luck amplify what I am attempting to bring to the general public's notice! Personally I dont care when it appears, as long as it does!

Was my post really that offensive, or did I possibly make an unfavourable comment about a personal friend?
From what I saw, KBers were having a robust discussion about the upcoming "WestPac Ride." Maybe discussion is now banned on here. :(

I dont think it is banned at all mate. Some of the points raised were valid, but, there were some things that were not constructive either. This ride is what it has always set out to be, a fundraiser for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter in Auckland. I have re-read this thread tonight and see that this very issue was discussed back on page one or two. Personally I cant wait to see just how much money we can raise for the helicopter!
Motorcyclists are a mobile population, personally I dont see any conflict raising money for ARHT on this ride. There has been plenty of time for people along the route the ride is taking to say, I want to do something locally, we would have been supportive of that, but it has not happened. I have a full list of the Rescue Helicopter Trusts the Westpac support, but dont have naming rights to, in New Zealand. If people are really opposed to giving money to Auckland Rescue Helicopter, I can give them the bank account details of the trust of their choice. They can then make their donation to that trust.
For someone to simply come on here at this late stage in the planning and suggest that the organisers of this ride were misleading people about where the money raised is going is not on.
Other regions in NZ have got together to raise money for their local Helicopter. There are 6 rides happening this weekend coming, 2 are raising funds for a Westpac branded helicopter, the others for their local helicopter.
Your post was not offensive at all, a few of mine got chucked out too...LOL
Look forward to your support this weekend!

For someone to simply come on here at this late stage in the planning and suggest that the organisers of this ride were misleading people about where the money raised is going is not on.
its actually, will be misleading, most of your catchment donation area dont read through KB posts, or are privy to your organisation process, they will just see the flyer n the wall and shell out cash for what they think will be their (in Waikatos case) westpac helicopter rescue service, but if you cant see that........well like my pm said fine good luck I wish you the best.
All you need to do is give the Waikato donations to the local westpac service, instead your going to piss the local westpac heli crew off, not to mention the donators.
Youre WIN WIN (if only you could see it) is to support each area particularly if their name is the same as the one on your flyer.

Great!!! Can you please post a list of the a/c numbers that people outside Auckland (Waikato, BOP etc) can send their cheques/transfer monies too?
Great!!! Can you please post a list of the a/c numbers that people outside Auckland (Waikato, BOP etc) can send their cheques/transfer monies too?
Dont need to, simply go to your nearest westpac bank and ask to donate money the the helicopter of your choice. They have the account numbers set up as bar codes as they actually support all rescue helicopter trusts, they only have specific naming rights to 4 in the country.
they will just see the flyer n the wall and shell out cash for what they think will be their (in Waikatos case) westpac helicopter rescue service
I have attached a copy of the flyer so others can see what the fuss is all about. You say it is misleading, have another look at it Quasi, it very clearly states where the ride is going and where the money is being handed over. The ride starts in Auckland and finishes at the Westpac Helicopter base in Auckland where the funds raised are being handed over. Cant personally see much that is confusing about that!
Quasievil
23rd June 2008, 08:36
It says the last stop is Auckland helicopter base, and says the money will be handed over, it doesnt say anywhere that all money is going to the Auckland unit, the ride should be called "AUCKLAND WESTPAC FUNDRAISER RIDE" , the fact that it isnt is misleading, when your going outside Auckland to get donations particulary in Areas with a westpac helicopter service of its OWN !!.......CANT YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ???
Also you have never dealt with this issue in page 1 or 2, you just ignored it and moved on, should you have addressed it correctly you would have been more successful.
Hey this aint a big deal to me, I started this recent discussion to look out for you guys, Ive been told to fuck off and am banned despite being invited by one of YOUR TEAM, I got much better things to do than argue the point but based on the huge number of supportive PMs im not the only one with this concern.
If you guys could remove the head from your arses even for a moment you might consider that a donation to the Waikato unit would solve the problem.it would
1/ get the waikato air ambulance unit on your side
2/ get the locals in waikato on your side
3/ get local business on your side (incl Boyds)
4/ get me back on your side

I have been speaking to the coordinater for Resuce Helicopter Services and she confirms that any money donated to a specific service is automatically shared out to other Helicopter Services in the catchment area of any event.
To satisfy any remaining doubt about the integrity of this event, we will be keeping a ledger from each place we stop, so there can be no doubt about who raised how much. The National coordinater is happy for us to deliver the money we raise back to Auckland. She is also more than happy for us to continue the ride as advertised.
The Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust will oversee the distribution of the funds to each area. Of course, anyone can make a direct donation to their local Helicopter by visiting their local Westpac Bank.

These rides usually cruise along at a moderate pace, so dont worry use the follow safe distance rule, thats the most important thing and stay away from anyone being stupid.
The front usually rides slower and at a more easy pace that the back also.

Must have been a never ending meal...
Basically the ride will consist of a core group of riders (11) we will be the really attractive ones in orange fluro vests, and the wonderful people that are supporting this ride. We ask that the 11 orange vested riders are allowed to ride as a group and not be split up by others attending the ride.
We will leave from Botany Honda in Auckland at about 9:30am heading directly for the southern motorway on to highway 27 through Ngatea/Paeroa/Waihi and into Tauranga.
We will have a half hour there and then on to Rotorua, via Pyes Pah and the Old Tauranga Road to Rotorua.
Another half hour stop there, then heading north over the Mamakus and onto State Highway one into Hamilton.
A much needed break at Boyds Motorcycles on the Te Rapa Straights for half an hour and we will be heading north again on State Highway one into Auckland city finishing up at Mechanics Bay.
This has not been organised as a group ride, so we have made no contingencies other than for our core bunch of riders. We ask that you all take responsibility for your own ride, if you are attending with some friends work out your own TEC etc.
Look forward to seeing you all out having a ride on Saturday, hears hoping the weather plays the game!

...Dont ask how I know, suffice to say Im glad Ive had Electrical tape "practice" as the last cheesecutter ride

Depending on Saturdays weather, we will adjust the travel times between each town. I know that it will take two and a half hours to get to Tauranga from Botany so the arrival times at each city will probably push out by 1/2 an hour. No rush is the key here. If it takes a little longer then so be it. Two ways to get to Rotorua from Tauranga, the shorter way may not be suitable if the weather is shitty, safety is paramount. I will have a contact in each city and will phone ahead to let them what time they can expect us.

Along with the two prizes of $100 petrol vouchers that are on offer as prizes, there will also be 3 prize packs compliments of the Westpac bank, and a few of those cute little money boxes as well. There will be a BBQ provided by the Helicopter Base waiting for us when we get back to Auckland.
I have arranged for us to be able to present one of those big cheques at the base when we get back.

What an incredible day yesterday was! The weather delivered up some of its finest crap for us. We rode a hour to get to Botany Honda, some of that time in a hailstorm complete with thunder and lightning, we got rain, we got wind, it had even snowed on the top of the Mamaku's heading out of Rotorua...LOL. Inspite of that we managed to raise $1305.50
for Westpac Rescue Helicopter!
In Auckland we raised $930.00. Included in this total is $30,the proceeds of a gold coin donation bacon and egg roll BBQ that Botany Honda had going when we arrived! Yum and much appreciated too! And a very generous $500 donation from the team at Motorcycle Trader & News. Shane Solomon was unable to attend the ride (he has man flu apparently  his words not mine) but dragged himself out of bed and met us back at the base to give his donation. Thank you so much MTN!
The Tauranga stop gained us $185.50, thank you to Lydnsay and his team at Bayride Motorcycles for their hospitality.
The Rotorua donations were $70. One of these from a member who insisted on giving and giving, at every stop. Big thank you to Bike Force for staying behind after shop closing time to welcome us.
Our Hamilton stop, raised $120. A huge thank you to Sue Boyd and the team at Boyd Motorcycles, the BBQ was lovely and your generous donation of $100 was much appreciated.
Our prize draw was done back at the Helicopter Base by one of the pilots. I am off to make a few phone calls now to let people know what they have won! I will post up the details later today.
An amazing result, considering the weather and temperatures on the day. Thank you to everyone that came along and supported this ride, you rock!
We have just got back home after staying the night at the Busa's. The trip is 45 minutes long during which mother nature let us have some more rain, blustery winds, a nice lightning display and then brilliant glaring sunshine on wet roads :killingme

What an incredible day yesterday was! The weather delivered...some stuff.
Twere a mixed bag around the country. Ann and Mark, I really must take this opportunity to thank you both for coming up with this idea and giving us all a push to get off our collective arses to deliver something worthwhile. Wouldn't have happened without your initial vision.
A quick calculation shows that a total of just under 10 grand was collected.
WooHoo!!!

29th June 2008, 13:33
$9755 is what was raised yesterday throughout the country, a fantastic effort...:woohoo: Good onya Yungatart and MSTRS and the HB crew/Chanceyy and her team from the Manawatu/MyGSXF and the rest of the Nelson region Bikers/SuziQ and Dangerous in Christchurch/Hayd3n and Chi5tina from Dunedin....oh and US.
Massive day yesterday, riding in the worst weather ever at times. Big thank you to everyone who turned out. Special thanks to (in no particular order) The Busa's/MadDuck/The Stranger/Draco/DEATH_INC/Speedie/Luckylegs/Gubb/Zapf.
Busa Pete did an awesome job of keeping us moving, making sure that the 1/2 hour at every stop was indeed just that. We got to the Base at the time we said we would, even though it took us an extra 1/2 hour to get to Tauranga.
Botany Honda did a wondeful job with the B-B-Q , cheers Richard/John and the team from Botany, those bacon and egg rolls were a welcome first stop beakfast munch.
Onto Tauranga...its not unusual for me to take a wrong turn at times and yes it happened again...:innocent: saw DMNTD at Te Puna and by the time we got into Tauranga, the big green signs confused me...:crybaby: and I took the wrong, all the while thinking '' come on Chris where are you mate''? he took the lead and got us to BayRide. TOTO did a bit of traffic control so we could U turn on Cameron Rd....cheers TOTO.
Big thanks to Lindsay and the team at Bayride, the toilet got a hammering I know that!! Coffee and food supplied and the weather had changed for the better :sunny: so we took the Old Tauranga Direct rd to Rotorua.
Once in Rotorua we were told that it had been snowing in the Mamaku's, yip we are going that way :shit: Thank you Bike Force for staying open and once again, the toilet got plenty of use. 1/2 hour break there then off to Hamilton. Just over the Mamaku's the sky was black, and I mean black, not dark grey BLACK!... and fuck did it rain! cleared by about Cambridge but chucked it down again once we arrived at Boyds. The B-B-Q there was hit pretty hard as was the Toilet (AGAIN) Thank you so much Sue Boyd for generous Cheque and hope the Sale went well. Refuel at Ngarawahia BP, it looked sunny up ahead so on go the shades for the first time...what a waste of time that was, couldn' see by the time we got to the Bombays, that fricken' rain and dark dark sky, so up went the visor and I gave Anne my sunny's. and then I got real interesting around the Papakura area, the wind shear and hard driving rain made for very unpleasent riding, slowed right down to about 70ks at one point, maybe 60?.. Speedie jumped in front closer to the off ramp and lead us into the Base. Beers and the B-B-Q were at the ready. The Helicopter Crew were fantasic and the Cheque was signed and handed over. A few words were spoken by Myself and Anne and we dedicated the ride/day to Zukin (scott) the crew in Auckland were the ones that went to him. Those guys have a hell job (and I mean that in posistive way) and total respect goes out to them...
Should do this again sometime..........Mark

Real sorry I couldn't spend more time at the Base, looks like I missed out on all the fun. Had to get home to the missus (probably has the same strain of man-flu as Shane, only... less manly).
Wicked trip. Look forward to it next year.

Thank you for your welcome on yesterdays combo Wespac Rescue Support / Cheesecutter Awareness Ride. A bit damp, yes. I took some photos and video enroute and at Westpac Chopper Base Mechanics Bay. When a bigger dedicated ride is organized I believe it is essential that we get TV/Media "buy-in" to our fight.
We can organize some spectacular footage at the Rangariri killer section---It's closeness both sides on the runoffs with gustiness dangers would suit a multicam shoot. Ideal would be to get some well known media type involved. This next few months is a heaven sent opportunity to up the ant. in the the public and political areas. We now have Public Special Interests venues for nationwide TV exposure via Freeview. This website plus media adds would get the interested people to target it. Relentless and climbing pressure on Govt is number one. Close behind that will be to get top barristers or Law Professors being interviewed on TV as on How to Sue the Transit and LTSA after the next Wire Barrier bisection. Ah la the recent law ruling on the right to sue Corrections Dep over that murder they contributed to. The Transit Dep need to feel a little heat. First, we would need Court worthy proof that we have supplied them with irrefutable evidence of the Barrier hazards . They are wily and arrogant. So we must close their loopholes. If a video production gets off the ground I can contribute HDV Cam, lights, etc---we would more for multicam shoot---they should be HDV 16-9 widescreen. I have pencil cam rigs that could fit bikes participating etc.
Lets focus on this four months.
lights,
Thank you for your welcome on yesterdays combo Wespac Rescue Support / Cheesecutter Awareness Ride. A bit damp, yes. I took some photos and video enroute and at Westpac Chopper Base Mechanics Bay.
Welcome to the site and thank you so much for all your filming and photos etc. I am the poor woman you interviewed at Rotorua...LOL I agree 100% with your comments. Count me in for any assistance I can offer.

What a day.....pretty stoked despite freezing half the trip....
All went pretty damn smoothly considering the conditions.
Nearly 10g's eh...kinda makes it all worthwhile :)
Much thanks must go to busa pete (i think) for the rain suit ( woulda been a lot wetter without it) and Quasimoto too, who brought me one as well. Cheers guys :niceone:
The support from all the shops was bloody fantastic, bloody legends every one of ya.
And all those that came along, and all those on the other rides around the country, likewise.
Good shit.

Every now and then you get to do something positive and something to be proud of...that was yesterday.
Thanks Mark and Anne for having the vision and putting in all the hard work to bring the day together...at times I know it wasnt easy
The ride itself was timed to perfection and all the bike shops were just brilliant opening their facilities to us. Luckily Bayride sell big thick warm socks - alas they didnt stay dry for very long. Oh and thanks Lindsay for pointing out the direction we were heading was where those really really big BLACK clouds are
Actually didnt mind riding in the rain and wind except for heading back to the base on the Southern Motorway and the only thing visible was Marks tail lights. This coming from a fair weather harley rider.
And what a HUGE HUGE honour to be allowed onto the base to meet the crew and see the helicopter up close. What a top bunch of guys and what a great job they do. They deserve every penny we can raise and more :Punk:

A quick calculation shows that a total of just under 10 grand was collected.
WooHoo!!!
Sweet, this years KB rally is going to be awesome
Should do this again sometime..........Mark
Yeah why not... but please, PLEASE can we do it in summer time?

Fantastic effort Maha & mom .. you did yourselves damn proud , thank you for allowing me to be a part of it .. definately challenging but ohhh sooooo satisfying yesterday once it was all over & everyone back safe & sound
hmm I think this should be either at the least annual or perhaps 6 monthly event ?? but before the shortest day (the old saying the weather craps out after the shortest day is correct  )
I am so proud of those guys who came out in way less than ideal conditions, we had some very newbie riders doing their first group ride & had hail a few times on the ride. And I am totally estatic with the behaviour of all the riders everyone did the biker community proud  thank you

A big thank you to mark and anne for orginizing this event it was a good day out considering the conditions. Had hoped to see more people out there but good on the ones that did brave it was great to see the support that we got from around the country. Nearly 10k in the winter does that mean nearly 20k in the summer lets hope.
That sale in Hamilton could of cost us hours as every thing was oh so cheap great job there guys.
(although i may have to go back on monday for that shoei )
Unfortunately it was proven this weekend that you could need these services anywhere not just in your own back yard So see you all next time and if it's raining don't worry your bikes won't shrink

Lets focus on this four months.
lights,
whenever you need people for any help with any of this, sen me a pm and I'll be there. Any help you need

Must say I was more than happy to finally get off the bike at the end of it all, we had done 655 ks by the time we got home...probably just over 600 on the day, in 'trying' conditions, we stayed at the Busas on Saturday night, curried sausages and Bourbon.....:niceone:

After we left Rotorua and were heading towards Hamilton there was some dude on the side of the road with a camera filming us all as we went past, there were trees everywhere on both sides of the road, any one know who that was or any way we could see the footage? I'd love to see that.
Not to worry if not but just thought it'd be cool :scooter:
