I finally have a motorbike! Hooray
But whilst practicing riding, i had a little fall round a roundabout. The motorbike has a bent right handle bar, and the horn and one of the headlights have stopped working. Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix?

A little fearfulness is a good thing. Tends toward keeping you alive.
Handle bars can almost always be kicked straight, or straightened with a bit of water pipe.
Horn and light not working sounds like some wiring got wrenched loose. Or the bolb in the headlight just got a bang.
If there is a clued up Welly rider could have a look for you, probably not cost anything.
Oh, and get yourself on a riding course. ASAP.

poor gummibear. Sorry I don't live nearby, miss. Get someone to look at it for ya, get what parts u have to have and get some helpful person to slap them on for ya, and save up for the parts that you really should replace as well.

how long should it take for pics to upload? i've been waiting nearly half an hoursomething is wrong, unless you are dialup and the pics are 1MB each.:pinch:
On broadband, it should take just a minute or so.
Check the pics are smallish and try again and read the destructions carefully.

If its fixable less than $100. If it needs replacing than that is a figure SGP will pull out of the sky. Talk to wreckers as there are 100's of 1000's of second hand parts for these things now.

That is minor damage mate. New clip on (handle bar) if you have to buy one would be $60-$80, light will just be a bulb or loose wire. Once you have more details, feel free to PM me for help.

oh yea, the headlight was just a blown bulb too, took it off today, putting a new one on tomorrow after buying it! where can you buy new bulbs from(in wgtn)?
That's just the bar end weight snapped (or bent). No biggie, you don't even need it. Maybe just a new bolt, at worst an after market pair. All up should be less than $100.

Y' local Suzuki agent ? Just a wild outside the square stab in the dark, mind.

I'm actually not too fussed about the handlebar, but i need to get a warrant soon. I don't think it will pass because the throttle doesn't snap back anymore, (kinda like cruise control)
There's plenty of helpful people in Wellington that will offer some help.

Now that could be a problem!, be very careful riding it, heck even i wouldn't ride it like that, crashed a fair few times riding with a jam throttle. The bar end's no biggy, i have a couple RG150 one's what will fit, you might be able to bend it back actually.

I think your bar weight is stopping your throttle from rolling back quickly. Try removing it.
There's a technique for those bar weights. you don't just unscrew it.
Unscrew it till its easy to unscrew like its not tight. then push in and pull out.

Thanks for the help everybody! I'll try do the handlebar tomorrow. About the horn now, I thought it was a disconnected wire but reconnected it today and it still doesn't work. Any other solutions for the horn?

Horns fail all the time.
You should be able to get a new one (standard 12V horn bought from any bike store or even repco etc).
Should just bolt straight on and plug in.

take it down to the boyz at any local engineering shop where there are lotsa loud grinding noises and sparks flying everywhere, and put on yer best sad puppy look and walk right in and go like "I fell off and this got bent :crybaby: " and they will sort you out pronto ! Then run, quick.

This technique works best if you wear a low cut top.

Sad but true, that would work!
Hmm not the same as the RG150 one's. Was there rubber's and stuff?
Should be able to bend it back easily.

Tried the hammer+vice, worked a treat! Backup option sounded good too though. Horns going too now, all I did was crc it and recheck all the conections, then try it again. Headlights were easy too, but now i'm worried about something else. Today I started it and was keeping it at 3000revs, then all of a sudden it would jump up to 7000 by itself, i wasn't moving the throttle at all. This happened a few times, then I turn off the bike for a bit and went away, but when I tried to start it again later, it started but when I tried to rev it, it would stop. Surely its not because I unscrewed the bar weight? Have I just completely broken my baby:crybaby:

cable issue maybe?

Was the choke on when you did this?
Did you rmeove the handlebar to hammer and vice it? If so, recheck the run of the throttle cable, and all screws etc.

yes, i was using the choke, and i did remove it before hammering too
