Surprised no one bought this last time he advertised it but I don't think the price was quite as low as it is this time. Sure the km's are on the moderate to high side but that sure is good value for money biking right there!!

That and the fact that it's been repainted.
And not to mention

Is that a typo? Is it even possible for a high revving engine to last 200,000 K like that? Maybe with several rebuilds? Even then I wouldn't touch it with a 10ft barge pole.

Looks like a comma might be in the wrong place for the Dec 1999 figure

for some reason there an odo decrease number
some how all vehicles were at a particular date the amount was set at a figure for some reason,
I know stuff all about it
like my folks car has about 330 000km on it ok but when you look at the same charts it shows actuall kms as being something like 270 000km
but we know its more the car says its more .
why i dont know

I agree, it's a 1999 bike, I doubt they put 95000k on it in under a year ... unless GI Joe owned it:msn-wink:
I reckon the odo reading was actually 9524.
I can't quite make out the reg but could do a MotoChek on it if someone puts it up....

It's probably a data entry error, most likely 9524.2km in its first year.
I've checked a number of vehicles that I have owned on that site and it's surprising how many have "jumps" in the odometer reading, including vehicles that I owned during the periods when the jumps occured. Sometimes it looks like the WoF testers just made a guess at the current mileage when entering it online, others were errors made by entering the decimal value incorrectly like above.

Seen a red/white first model R1 for $8999 in totally original condition with a FSH. That is what this bike is up against.

I sold mine for $8500, it was a NZ new 99 in absolutely immaculate condition (i've got pics on my profile) with a shade over 10,000k on the clocks. The market for these bikes is pretty much dead at the moment. Plenty of bargins to be had but most are just sitting on trademe without any interest.

Man, I had a nice look at your profile pic.
You're sure great at adding photoshop sparkles to your bike!
It sure looks good though!

Never used photoshop in my life, thats what happens when you clean your bike and photograph it in the sun. Still doesn't help it sell though.

Last year I sold my red/white 98 with mid 50000km on it for $6000. It was tidy but not mint (certainly a lot tidier than that one) and had a Yoshimura carbon can on it. At the end of the day its worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

The market for used big bikes in NZ is really bad at the moment.
The listing that blew my mind was the 2003 Ducati 999 with less than 10,000km for $12,000

I know the 999 doesn't get a lot of love, but that is a hell of a bike for the money.
bugger i have just payed half that getting my bike back on the road

I think half the problem with that R1 is the GAY colour scheme....
Hell, you could buy a Honda and be less gay...

I just noticed there are currently six Ducati Paul Smart replicas on trademe.
Including this one - which has halved in value in only two years.

I guess the economy must really be starting to tighten up!

I never want to hear that racing is too expensive again! A cheap as chips trackday/clubman's bike that is still too fast for 99% of riders.
