View Full Version : How dumb is SKY?
This Sunday at 4pm on SKY Sport 1 is NZ Motorcycle racing from Ruapuna and at EXACTLY the same time on SKY Sport 3 is MotoGP live !!!??
I despair...
Yeah I noticed that when I was scanning through skywatch trying to find which days the NZSBK coverage was on. They certainly aren't the sharpest knifes in the drawer when it comes to that. All they needed to do was bring the coverage of the NZSBK forward one hour and everyone could have a great sunday afternoon watching bikes!!!
P.S. There is a replay on the Monday around midday sometime iirc.

Not if you got Telstra buddy.:pinch:
My Sky is your friend:apint:
And that is quite possibly why this scenario exists - Sky want you to buy their latest bit of tech (for about ten times what it should cost, too)
You think you've got problems! I'm also a Warriors fan and the game's on at exactly the same time as BOTH motorcycling shows!

HAHA, The one that irritates me is when sky play golf on 3 channels at once. yd think if you were into golf you would rather watch them all at staggered times:bash: they love doing it with cricket too, 4 games on at one time and 3 of the 4 are delayed or replays.....monkeys!!!

Try finding out when AMA MX/SX is on! Paper guide says one thing, on screen another, while reality is something else. One of their best stunts so far was to swap mid race to cricket. No warning, explanation or change to live guide. Anyone found a decent on line guide? I get emails from an Aussie based website My TV? (Searches for keywords – MGP, Motocross, etc. After adding 2/3 hrs it’s the best I’ve come up with.
Also putting half of the WSBK/ MGP on one Skysport channel then the second half on another means changing the VCR/HDR at some hour when I’m usually asleep or at work. “My Sky” might fix this for $$. But I’m sure it wouldn’t be great with the confusion over what’s on when that seems to reign supreme at the traveling Circus known as Sky TV.:calm:
Perhaps we could get together with a concentrated campaign to be treated as well as other sports fans.:2guns:
I think by not providing an accurate program guide they are close to a breach of consumer regulations – not providing what is paid for.:argh:
Just in case anyone reads this. Bike racing on at 10am (five mins) on sky sport from ruapuna.

hah yea I was creating quite a good sized lead till the plug cap fell off!!!!
haven't seen it yet but I can imagine the interview isn't flash lol
Was it one of thoes motorsport programmes playing it or did it have a timeslot of its own? Id be keen to watch a repeat if theyre gonna play one.
Yeah had timeslot by itself. Had 45 mins of coverage of each of the "minor" classes (125, F3, streetstock and sidecars).

The TV guide shows "NZ Motorcycle Road Racing Grand Prix" scheduled for 7.00am to 8.00am on Tues 13th May.
Hopefully this is repeat and an opportunity for those to watch / record if they missed it.

Also dont rely on the Skywatch magazine, as it is not correct most of the time. We were all set to watch SBK from 8.30 which was correct in Skywatch, then 2nd race at 1am. Looked at onscreen guide, and 2nd race was delayed till 4am due to bloody English football!!!!!

Don’t set your recorder to stop @ 00:20 for the first SBK race/supersport, (Skywatch). On screen guide states 00:40, at this stage! I wonder what it will really be? A different channel?
Anyone seen any MX? We have Ben Townley racing in the AMA champs, round 4 today – no coverage seen.
Also Josh Coppens flying the Kiwi flag in the world MX champs.
Both these championships were on SKY last year – no sign of them yet. Anyone have any info on where it can be seen? Internet? I’ve been trying to avoid results as I hope to watch some racing - eventually:(

First- delayed, not live, as of course, evrything else is more important.
Second- Changed from 06:00-10:00 (Skywatch + on screen guide) when I went to bed (6hrs before it is "programed" to start), to 0815-11:10 when I luckly check this morning.
