Drunk Santas get locked up in downtown Auckland!

Occurrence:

Date: Saturday - 18th December, 2004

Time: 6:45pm

Where: Victoria Street Carpark, Auckland City

Police were called on 111 by an off duty Police Officer who witnessed a large group of people dressed in Santa Claus suits, heavily intoxicated, fighting in the carpark

About 30 people - female and male were involved.

A male and female Santa Claus were arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour, the male was also charged with resisting arrest and threatening behaviour.

Police believe this group of people had been drinking since this morning

Actually I saw a promo for this lark on C4 last week, it's a regular event. A major pub crawl for a whole day, basically dressed as Santa & getting slaughtered.
