Yeah,yeah,yeah bloody show off.

Take heaps of batteries for cameras, worth doing the loop around Crown range rd to Wanaka and back by Cromwell.

Did that, the queenstown end of crown range is like a bloody goat track. Awesome seal but steep incline with sharp cornres each end, just like a goat track, was bloody mint though :Punk:

Pity you're starting a bit early. With at least a couple of other people I'm going to be heading out Pohangina Valley-ish and then through to SH1, coming back south and heading somewhere vaguely Wanganui-ish before coming home. Meeting at BP Rangitikei[1] at 12pm for a 12:15 departure.

[1] Chosen not for its immediate proximity to the anticipated line of departure, but for its retailing of extraordinarily tasty Butter Chicken pies!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed to ride today folks. Meanie led the way (with a wee detour here and there), Cowboyz tried to blow his bike up, Owl made a grand attempt at flying, Gary missed an oppertunity at picking up a girl(well a pair or was that three?) for the night, Monie got snowed on, GSX250s rock. Sarge and Monie had us a bit worried for a bit(over to you Monie). Oh we lost Sonic, can't have an Ashhurst ride without loosing someone and as usual we left late......................

Did I miss anything?

Ashhurst, Colyton, Halcome, Turakina Valley Road, Wangavegas, Paraparas, Ratavegas, Ohakune for Lunch, up to mountain where the kids got a little silly and you guessed it a snow fight (hopefully some one will add a photo or two, aye cowboyz!!).

Then home via Waiouru, Taihape, Rangiwahea, Kimbolton where some went back to Colyton then Ashhurst the others went Apiti , Pohangina Valley and home.

I better mention it was awesome:headbang: Just in case some else forgets to say it was also MINT.

VERY VERY VERY sedate ride. Mrs C is out on Norman to wimbilton along with FastTrax and her son on the back of the 9.

Was certainly a fab day to be out on the bike thats for sure. Sorry we didn't make the ride with you lot but going that way tomorrow so decided to do a shorter scenic run today.

Vin Hill and then along to gravity canyon for refreshments. What a great road with all the autumn colours and twisties. Fun to watch the adrenaline junkies and YNOT nealry flew the fox but couldn't convince the Mrs to go too

Anton did well in the green armchair and the blue beast was on form.

Back via Rangawahia , apiti, umtoi and coffee in george street.

Rounded up the cows in 5m when we got home so all in all perfect start to Easter.

A day for all who enjoy two wheels to be out on their travels and there were plenty of us. Perfect autumn day :ride:

more mint riding today.

Bonez,Fasttrax and her son turned up at home.
In true Ashhurst fashion we left late, Bobbie on Norman, Fasttrax on the scropio, Bonez on the Bonezmobile and Fasttrax's son on the back of the 9. His first time being pillion I thought I better be a little bit nice to him as I was unsure how he would react to being on the back of the bike. Took a few ks and he sorted out how to sit comfortably and we called into Pie-A-2-A to meet up with NZSarge before heading out to Pongaroa.
Tradition was held as we took a detour from the planned route and made our way to Pongaroa. Roads were really nice and pace was suited to a nice afternoon in the sun.
Had some lunch and decided to skip wimbilton and head out to Weber.
Took Great Greta rd? as another detour which was very pleasent in to Dannivegas for more smoke stops before heading home for movies and dinner. Nice day out. Cheers to NZSarge, fasttrax, Bonez and of course Mrs C.
PS. Can see Josh getting a bike in the near future. He was quite taken with the 9.....

Pics coming. Got quite a few on the move which come out quite good.

if yesterday is anything to go by I would give that general area a big miss, we came back over taka's yesterday .. all good but run up s h 1 all of the passing lanes are coned off and it was pretty much a static 80 ks til well after waikane (the cones are all sitting beside the passing lanes heading south ready for monday)

also normally on the monday traffic trying to get back to welly backs up as far as levin (did last yr)

could be a better plan to stick to the back roads tomorrow

went for a play out alfredton way yesterday road is in pretty good nick .. just the odd gravel on a few corners to watch ... not to mention the mob of sheep being moved without adaquate warning (the buell turned one into lamb chops)

then went for a play around gladstone, carterton area .. good roads & scenery from water tower road is worth looking at on a nice clear day .. btw that is the road they use for hill climb sprints in march every yr .. interesting road

oh yeah the tight right hand bend (35k corner) after the bridge on ya way to Pahiatua says no road markings .. but its new seal along with no road markings just about caught a few out yesterday

however good thing was a definate lack of traffic on those roads :niceone:

(A similar route to what we're doing in 2 weeks). Ended up missing all the roads I wanted as we went Track, Alfredton, (dodge the pea metal), Pongaroa (dodge the BIG black bull standing in the middle of the road by Tiraumea:shit:), Wimbledon, (dodge the holes and cracks in the road) Porangahau for lunch (dodge the wasps), Waipuk (gas), SH 50 then some headed over Gentle Annie and I came home. Jarrod (blue R6) played with the Katana rear preload at Pongaroa and the Kat now handles like a dream.:scooter:

Alfredton to Masterton was sublime!

:clap:yeah it sure was ... apart from a mob of sheep being moved just after the sweepers .. they never had someone at the front of the mob & come around a slight bend, a few of the front riders had to hit the picks hard to avoid them .. but one decided to take on the buell .. credit though he managed to lay the bike down in the grass and use the sheep to cushion the bike .. both him & R fine though and buell only appears to have a bit of surface scrapings & bent brake lever (so far)

so thats Buell 1 sheep 0

Sounds like fun times up there  Sorry about that icket Al!

Well we had another amazing day. Wanaka to Queenstown via the Crown range - awesome! Brilliant weather all the way. Then Queenstown Te Anau, nice wee ride although not as spectacular.

Then, god. Te Anau to Milford!!! Now THIS is a road, bloody hell, one of the best rides around. Good sweepers, really tight mountain trails, surrounded by AWESOME scenes!!!

No probs. Suggestion for possible route for tomorow.

Saddle, Oxford, Pinfold, Valley Rd, Top Grass, Maharahara, George, Dannevagas(pick up Sarge?), towards Webber, Te Uri then onto Ormondville. After that who knows. The less main roads the better.

Casual cruise as I'm in no hurry to get home.

Is this on Monday at 9 starting at Ashhurst - sounds tempting may come - what would home time be aprox?

I won't ride this morning, was cleaning the jacket last night and a bee must have been hiding in there somewhere, it dropped out on to the floor without me noticing and I stood on it, swelling is'nt bad, if I keep it elevated hopefully most of what's left of the swelling will go down so I can get an arvo ride, might call Oscarnz to see if she's still keen, if something gets worked out i'll probably post it up.

So no motoGP at all? Have it being recorded... or not as the case maybe. Bugger. well after an epic 1400km weekend on the bike I ended up out visiting late last night as only actually got showered and ready for the day at 12.50pm!! So I missed the rides but atleast we had a nice breakfast/lunch at Subway. Marias habit of piling on the jalapeno peppers is a little disturbing though.

Weather looks to be windy as hell out so stay safe or hit the cafes like us, its much safer!

more mint riding today.

Good evening from Reefton

This is one very, very cool town! An old gold mining location that's been restored and is up and running very nicely.

We're staying at the 'Old Nurses Home' now a backpackers and just the bee's knees

Had a great couple of days motorcycling. Dunedin was amazing, so many memories and we made Geraldine last night. Bit of a slow haul up SH1 to get there but a really hot day!

In fact, the weather has been awesome for almost the whole trip!

Amazing ride through Arthurs Pass today, got ton's of pics of the whole trip in fact and will post em when we get back.

Amazing time being had

So thats two cools, three amazings, one awesome, one great, one good and a bees knees.

Marvelous!
