...but be careful as it could easily get you a hefty fine! :) especially with such a fat tyre... Nice bike though

Because you should NEVER trust a second hand helmet. Or at least if you value your life.

i was kinda thinking i would use the helmet for now, and maybe put it on my list of things to get as finances become available

Don't risk it.:shit:
One thing i have learnt from this site and from others in the know is NEVER EVER wear or buy a second hand helmet you just never know where it has been or what has happened to it.

If the helmet shows absolutely no signs of having impacted anything it should be perfectly safe to use (as long as it fits you though).

First time I hear that. I've always been told that there might be invisible crack to the outer shell or damage to the inner shell that are not visible when looking at the helmet.

In any case, I wouldn't trust a second hand helmet. I value my head, and a brand new helmet is not that expensive. Better a cheap brand new helmet that has passed all the safety tests than a second hand one.

Just don't crash and hit your head then any helmet will be fine.

That so called 'new' helmet Jiminy just bought could have just as easily been dropped by the courier, shop staff, or customers browsing it.

There's no guarantees for anything in life.

And are you seriously suggesting that anyone who has a friend who says "Hey, come out for a ride on the back of my bike - you can use this helmet" should say "No way mate, buy me a brand new helmet first"?

"The only Guarantee in life is that it will end."

Great looking bike.

I wish you good luck.

The risk is much lower. They're usually pretty well packed.

If I can buy a bike, I can buy a helmet instead of getting a second hand one. Of course, I'll make the occasional exception, e.g. if I'm travelling and get the chance to go for a ride...

The point is: can you trust a helmet just because it looks like okay?

Kewl! Welcome and enjoy the ride  see ya round no doubt.

My two cents worth re the helmet...I WOULDN'T put my noggin and trust in a second hand helmet....but that just me.
