OMG!!!!!
I had a ride on a brand spankers one lastnight...I think I'm in
Was my first ride on a 1 liter bike, loved every single minute of it. And it's a guy magnet :D :D
But with a bike like this I could be a born-again virgin :innocent:
More satisfying than a Snickers

Go for the SP2 or later. There were some handling probs with the SP1 that they ironed out in subsequent models. The SP5 has just been released too, mmmmmmmmmm SP5! insert Homer drool

I love my twins but I've heard such good things about these Gixer 1000's.

Try $28k for SP1 to 4 brand new. Outrageous really. Can't beat an ex demo for $18 I reckon.

Yeah you used to the Honda now, the lean is quite more forward huh, my back said hello after an hour! prefer the Honda that way... but such a smooth ride was Shauns GSXR.
Feet touching? For me.... not close....

I tried a TL1000S a few weeks ago, and it was like night and day from my humble FZR400... and I'm told a GSXR1000 is a similar step up again... either way, they both keep you "running away from trouble" as easily as they get you into it - just as soon as i can find $18k !!!!

the GSXRthou is so much better than the TL but it aint got that something special (i think people call it character, i call it attitude or balls, big nasty ones) never ridden any 4 hundys but ive heard there pretty good. The TL handles like a bit of a donkey but its so addictive.
also one year at paeroa, when the SP2 was first released, they had one advertised at 32g's

Well, to be more accurate, the TLs handling scared me, and the top end was crap. But then it was never designed to be a superbike.
The FZR400 handles well (in my not so experienced opinion) but has a governor at an indicated 190 which, I'm sure the 5-0 on here will be glad to point out, is more than enough to get you into trouble, but not quite enough to get you out sometimes - although to date it has been :sly:
As for the SP-1/2... oh so damn sexy they are!!! But they're in the same price bracket as an R1 and GSXR1000, so...

Ahhhh... and thats why Suzy released the TLR - Which was going to be a "superbike". The topend is much better on the TLR (compared to a TLS) but it's still a big heavy tart with a baaaad attitude. :Punk:

Fuckin aye. That gsxr thou has a pretty mental amount of power. It feels so tiny too! Especially compared to the old zx6r. I wouldn't see my license lasting very long on one of them though!
But god damn they're fun to ride.

The 04R1 is supposed to have an exceptionally smooth power delivery, I must test an 04/05 gsxr1K and compare.
I might go test a few different bikes sometime when I've nothing to do.

Which is why some of us can't afford to own the bikes we'd like to ride.

Well after one ride on a 03 GSXR1000 went & brought one. The thought of seeing someone else riding one & not me just wasn't going to happen knowing how great they are . Have done a 1000k in the first week .Looking forward to the trip down to Wanganui on boxing day . If you get the chance to ride one try it out . When down at Phil Turnbulls a few week's back a couple came in for the guy to try one . Came back & brought it while he was out ridng I told his wife to take it for a quick ride ,which she did when partner got back . She was coming back when I was going out on a new GSXR750 for a test , when I got back she was signing up for the other one . Phil was very happy needless to say . SENSEI :first:

Sorry to the Gixxer fans but she preferred the SP...something to do with the 'wank' value of the throaty v-twin sound.
(Personally I think it was just the cyclic throbbing and all those good vibrations   )
