I need to find dirt.. lots of dirt. to fill in a big cut we made on our property.
If i don't do it by the end of the week, council gets mad.
Anyone got a big pile of topsoil handy? AUckland / st johns area!
i got a bit under my nails....

Can you not just dig it out of another part of your property? The council will come around, see you've met the deadline, then give you another deadline to fill in the new hole on your property, during which time you can shift it all back again!

Ring up a couple of earth/road works companies (anyone who's digging) and ask them. They will prob be quite happy to get rid of a bit of there excess dirt for free
I have a couple of metres or more if you want an hours drive south.
Buy the Trade and Exchange tomorrow morning. There is usually people giving away free fill at the front.
Umm, but what happened to the dirt that came out of the hole you are trying to fill??

It got taken away on two big trucks.. 30odd tonn of the crap.:blink:

ummmm whhhy? sorry i cant help you, but im just curious as to what a huge hole could have been dug for...
can y ou cover the hole put a little soil on top of the cover and its fixed , well so they think

Its not so much of a hole.. It was a hill. Now, its no longer a hill.
And we've put in a nice flat concrete slab. and some retaining walls. and a small deck :)
