I have recently prurchased a new Suzuki 1250 Bandit. Great bike and am really ejoying. The tyres on it are Dunlop D218s. I have no experience with this type of tyre. I have just completed run in (1600kms) and intend doing BRASS monkey at end of month. The trip we are doing this year is over 2000kms and am a bit concerned whether the tyres will go the distance. I have been caught out before with canvas showing and in Wanaka on a Satrurday morning. I am riding on my own with about 30kgs gear. I would describe riding as moderate, but must also consider the South Isalnd chip seal. Does anyone have any advice?

The 218s are a touring type tyre and should easily go the distance. Watch your tyre pressures - running them soft will chew them up.
Look for a 2-3psi pressure rise between hot and cold.

Cool, thanks for that.
