Nello - there is a number of fellow kbers whom have a lingering question as to where I've gone.....yup Im gone lol!!!

As some know I stuffed my right shoulder on March 2nd at work resulting in a rotator cuff injury. (did too much lifting) turns out that I have ripped ligaments, a stuffed shoulder blade which is under too much stress and a deformed joint. Found out a couple of weeks ago I now need surgery:angry2:Im waiting to hear as when surgery takes place, Im guessing its nothing major, so no gory scars. I hate wearing a sling so take it off but guess I wont have a choice as I got to wear one for 6 weeks after surgery.

Surgeon said I could have been possibly misdiagnosed when I binned my Zx6r back in 06 (on that norfland ride where I wore thoes sexy green leg warmers lol) so have more bone than needed and this is restricting movement so need to shave a bit off.

4 weeks into being a newly handicripple my hand started giving me grief. I thought it was symptoms from my shoulder as at the time the doc said the pain from my shoulder was out of control, which radiated down my arm. Well the swelling didnt go down, so went back yesterday to the doc...

Turns out I have Carpal tunnel in my right hand. The doc injected a steroid into it which has left me with three paralysed fingers (lucky Im left handed) day two of my sorry state and my hand is like a latex blown up glove (and thats not a blown up condom just to clarify :pinch: )

So at this stage I cant drive far, and am over it. Cant pillion, nor sit on a bike, play playstation or wrestle puppy...using only one arm to do everything is quite draining when you arent used to it and thats just simple tasks. Makes you appreciate things which are usually taken for granted. example, cant feel hot water on my fingers, so usual routine pour face wash into hand massage face, forgetting my hand was stuffed, got blinded reached for towel, knocked everything over in the bathroom.

You dont realise what you have till its not working.

Im going to die a virgin at this rate :weep: thats it my hand is knackered from typing!

hey Kitty. We were wondering what has happened, taught you been to australia and back.

Hope that surgery is nothing major. You are a strong chick - surely dont need whole 6 weeks after surgery. I recon 3 weeks max and woy will be ready for 2 wheel adventured. I hope so anyhow. Till then surely there are falks out there with trikes that can invite you for a ride, c'mon ya KB binch, whos got a trike ?

Glad to hear from you. Let me know when the time comes for a ride. Will be glad to let you have a day on the hyo - it aint much but its all I got and its from the heart :)

keep in touch :)

lol Toto the day I started packing up and arranged for all my junk to be karted back home to Tauranga was the day I recieved a ph call with a job offer, it was attractive so I stayed put and decided to put the OE on hold, it was a tough decision as I was going to flat with an old school mate I havent seen for 8 years up in Darwin. So not sure when it'll take place but the goal hopefully will be to ride around the world over 12 months or so.

If you had some shoulder warmers on the same as your leg warmers you would not have hurt your shoulder at all.

Damn babe...:( sorry to hear of all this.

Look on the bright side though...you don't have to sit on your hand for half an hour, for it to feel like someone else's when you have a "shuffle the monkey: moment :buggerd::lol:

Hope you get better soon mate.

Having just on Friday been given the all clear to take my hand out of its big fuckoff plastic splint, I know somewhat how you feel! Havn't done a shoulder yet but I've had 4 broken hands in the past 4 years, being handless is a giant PITA. Still I think doing my ankle and not being able to walk was worse!

Dont sweat it Kitty, Ive had both shoulders done for rotator cuff injuries and tendon damage, mostly as a result of waterski crashes !! but its not a huge one, you go under they do it all with probes, cut some bone out make more room and bingo job done, one or two nights in hospital and a bit of a sling on your arm for a while then youre sweet. Best advise is to get it soughted quickly and make sure you care for it properly afterwards, they will give you a bunch of excersices to get the stability back in your shoulder DO THEM !
dont do what I did and take sling of and go skiing, that was a bad idea (and another story)

Good luck girl

Agree, on the bright side, its my right arm which is stuffed, and Im left handed so its more of an annoyance rather than not being able to do nothing.. Have been on crutches before and it does limit you greatly, at least I can still walk my pup (at nana pace) drive short distances, and not rely on others to do everything for me as I can still write and do dishes etc, just takes a little longer.

Sounds like water skiing is more dangerous than biking. And yes Im stubborn hate wearing a sling but have to now because of my wrist. Need to learn to rest up, but its so boring. As for rehab after surgery, Thanks, I will follow what they say. Because I know you are speaking from experience, I will listen and learn.

Lol thanks hun. Yeah maybe 3hrs piano practise killed my wrist once and for all, did some research and music is possibly a contributing factor which didn't make me too happy. Playing left handed is just wrong you only get quarter of a song in sound (left hand is mostly bass lines) frustrates me I cant make good noise - dont like my instruments collecting dust lol.

Hmm....yep deal as long as I get mine back. Do me a favour while ya in mine.. wack my fingers hard with a hammer and youtube it lol!! Playing playstation has taken some adaption, Im still learning to cut steak and sleep comfortably. Its unusal as when my hand touches a surface or when I wash my hands...I look hard at it. The eyes can see water running over the fingers and am ment to be feeling something but there is no sensation,
I look forward to having feeling back when it returns, thing is I have to have 2 more injectons 4 moths apart, should be adjusted for next time round.

Heal fast my hero!

Aint no hero lol! just another wannabe biker and a newbie temporary handicripple.

Lol can still slap you with my good hand! when are you at the gokart track next? Im sure i can survive a 10 min drive come down and watch ...now that I have way too much time on my hands.

Thanks  as for the pillow fight, was a good laugh, next time we will use the cushons off the couch and yoga ball hahaha just paid for it the next day! Dont worry, Mike gave me several hits to my shoulder (never dare him again) and the other day grabbed my wrist - just so he could beat me at playstation cos he knew I'd keel over:bash:

No idea when I can get on a bike. When I sold the gixer, I said to myself Im taking 12 months off riding, and that Im just doing. Was going to do the "have a go sidecar day" in october, but dosent look like it now. Im in no hurry to get another bike, have upcoming study commitments and a puppy, so wouldnt have much time for riding anyway. If I really want to I can borrow a bike but no, not yet. Have my whole life ahead of me, plenty of riding in the future to come:love:

Not sure when I will be racing again, my knee is still giving me a bit of greif and falling off (which I tend to do a bit of) probally wont help, that and it seems a waste to spend money on a MNZ licence when the season is nearly over, so I will probally wait till next season starts.

If you want to get out of the house and to the pub after the ATNR I will probally be cageing it for a few more weeks yet, you are more than welcome to get a ride, just drop me a PM.
