Brake light problem on CBs LASER

OK, it's a cage I know (but so sought after by CH-CH idiot).

One brake light on each side fail to function, just happened and makes the warning light on the dash light up..

Tracked it back to a red wire with thin yellow tracer that goes forwards on the driver side and disappears forwards (through to somewhere under the rear seat I guess)

Anyway, this wire is dead - where does it go to and is there a junction or something up for'ard that may have become disconnected?? - where DOES it go to?

Yes, I know I could just link that 'live' other brake light wire to this one to make things work - but that's not how I like to do things.:bash:

The warning light on the dash comes on because there is no current flowing through a bulb. At least, thats how it was with our Telstar.
Further to that, there is a "seperate fuse block" behind the drivers accelerator foot kick plate that may have been triggered. This explains why your wire is dead. The 'fuse block" is an auto electrician fix it job as its not really a replaceable fuse.

Is your Telstar of the same vintage?

All the other lights etc work ok - just these two brake lights are out, normally I can 'fiddle' and cure most basic wiring problems but this one has given me a hard time. .:mad:

It is a 93..
Our problem was caused by a short in the trailer plug or wiring on the trailer. We also have a 97 mazda 626 and before we realised what the problem was we had hooked that up to the faulty trailer with the same result.

I's about to do that - just need a short link betwen wires at the rear.

Just worried what the resulting current might be feeding back to.

yeah thats what i'd do too... but would the warning light on the dash still stay on?

Nahh what i mean is run a new power feed line right up to the front --hook it back in as far forward as possible
