just want to know if anyone has cats eye indicators on their ride and what they think of them.
also i see that oxford ones are legal for nz.,
but will the testing station identify if i use cheaper unlegal ones.
but they look so similar or is there somthing that distiguises the legal from unlegal.

Yes there are legal in NZ – but they have to have a sign of the Test mark (number on the lenes) for example 11 E1 50R
11 = indicator front
12 = indicator back
E1 = Country of verification (1 = Germany)
50R = Verification Motorcycles
Don’t buy some without, you don’t get a WOF (or the guy at the testing station is blind)
See ya and have fun

For those after some good looking and very cheap indicators, check out the price of Buell ones (I kid you not) - the ones with the amber plastic cover inside a tinted cover.
You may just have to fit higher wattage bulbs.
Buell parts on an SP-1 ???? Damn straight.

cats eyes are bastards. A coupla times I've been cranked over and banged my toes into them. They also deflect your front wheel when lane splitting and they'll kick your tyres out when you ride over them when cornering. And when a black cat stares at you its a shit load of bad luck for seven years :eek:

Shit, posted that photo about half an hour after finally putting the bike back together around 10.00 last night, trying to take photos at night of a black bike ... :unsure: if it ever stops raining, I'll post some better shots, for sure. Apparently its 3 coats of 2 pac black and 2 coats of clear over the transfers (or something like that)
The guy that painted it wants it back to do final polish, even said xmas day will be OK to do it :2thumbsup

Dunno how much the nifty fifty ones are worth, but the Buell indicators were less than $40 each. Much better value than $160 each for the originals, and they are smaller and sexier.
