how many of you would pick up a hitchhiker, despite the fact that he/she has no helmet.
i did today, and i still had to race sidewinder, so i went hard as with this 50 ~y/o dude on the back of the motard, no helmet(for him), 150pkh flat tack down the divvy in raglan!
its good fun picking them up and then scaring the shit outa them aye!

Didn't a certain young member of the mormon few do this on a KLR 650 with a girlfriend on the back and no motorcycle license and got caught by the cops?

Going warp factor 9 with helmet less pillion = one of the dumbest things ive heard of for some time.

if they didnt have a helmet then they wouldn't get a ride,to be honest i dont think i would ever pick up a random on the side of the road due to the fact that the could potentially put u at harm if they have no experience of riding pillion.

11th May 2008, 19:19
Apart from not having a bike that would easily take a pillion I would not take one unless they were dressed at least as well as myself. Their life and limb would be my responsibility so I wouldn't treat them with any less respect than I treat myself. For me this would mean ALL the gear (except maybe armoured trousers as I don't always wear them).

I was recently coming down SH6 from Queesnstown and stopped to pick up a hitch-hiker. He had no helmet.
Further down the road I saw a poor fella on a 250 chook chaser with a puncture and what looked like all his worldly posessions on the back. He DID have a helmet.
Nevertheless the three of us lifted his 250 bike into the back of my van and continued odwn the road to Winton where he could get his tyre repaired.
Ah yes. If you read carefully you'll see I was driving a van at the time!

I stopped in the bus lane one night to answer my phone, was chatting away and two 18 year old chicks jumped in the back. It was raining, took pity on them, turned out the both of them were real shady and willing to pash each other just for the shock value. I kicked them out on the shore, honestly, you just don't know what might happen...
...
...
DOH!
As for taking a pillion that I don't know, without a lid? Fuck no, never in a million years. As for doing 150 clicks with said pillion - you wonder why bikers get a bad name...
Mormon Few? Once Mssrs Darwin and Grim catch up with you, we'll be reading the eulogy here on KB - won't take long, it is inevitable, Mr Anderson.

I'd pick up someone walking WITH A HELMET. I must have been 15 y/o (25 years ago) walking along some road out the back of Normanby, after the czeta scooter we dragged out from under the hedge stopped down at the car dump out in the middle of nowhere (we needed a "new" brake-light switch). Some biker whizzed past then pulled up quick and asked "wheres yer bike?" "Er, it stopped." "ok, jump on" he replied. I was stoked!! I got a ride right home from this guy on his cool bike. He didn't do any scary shit - just hummed along. I bet he was pleased he could help.

That's the right way about it - helmet and no monkey business.
You'd have to be feeling pretty bulletproof to take a pillion you don't knoiw and then gun it! If said pillion didn't have a helmet you'd have to be pretty indifferent towards their safety to take them anywhere at all...
I do hope that when your luck runs out it won't run out at a time and place where your mishap/passing is going to inconvenience too many other people.

Hey Carver, did the guy say anything to you at the end of the lift?
"Thanks for the lift mate."
OR "What the fcuk was that all about."
OR when you looked around, was you surprised to see he wasn't there?
Maybe he came off and got creamed during one of your 150kph wheelies?
It can't have been that bad a ride if he didn't try and deck you.

Two bikers killed over the weekend:

Just because someones old (sorry to all over 45), it doesnt mean that they are experienced or indeed a reasonable rider.

The saddest part is that's only half true, the clown did pick him up without a helmet but the high speeds were a troll. Either way Carver has gone a long way in recent times to make himself appear as brainless as possible and this is just another pathetic cry for attention. The pillion sounds as brainless as Carver does .

It is an old school carbine 30.06 that belonged to my grandad in south africa. it was his main hunting rifle which has shot a man eating lion, a bull elephant that was terrorising a village, various other elephants during culling seasons, all different types of buck etc. We are not sports killers though, all animals were shot for either ecological reasons or for food. (Biltong)
When I was over there this year, shot my uncles .375 magnum with Nitro rounds. That thing is wicked.
Never done target shooting...but basically, if I can see it well enough, I can shoot it.
Learnt early on, talk shit it will catch up with you and then you will either have to live up to your words or eat them. I am no pro fighter at all and having not been really training too hard (note at all) for the past month as I have been building my new house and working my arse off, but even unfit and in poor form I reckon I could hold my own.

My point was never that I had a beef with you. To be honest I have no opinion on whether I like you or not! I am sure I could quite easily go for a ride with you and share a beer and have a good day! I am sure you could also piss me off. I refuse to judge someone by who they are on the internet
My point was simply that if it had been my old man who's life had been risked, I would tend to be a tad reactive. It was then suggested that I might be all hot air behind a screen, so I thought I would back my yap up a bit with a bit of fact. I am not a shit stirer without intention.
On the topic of guns, we spent an afternoon playing with a Ruger KP85 and a Smith & Wesson 357 magnum also. The revolver so smooth and stable. The Ruger jamed a few times on us which was wierd. Think the ammo was a bit old and thus not ejecting the spent rounds with enough force.

Shit yeah, the 375 magnum was very very powerful. The nitro rounds added that little bit more punch. Funny thing was, it was a much better designed weapon, it was stable and deadly accurate whereas the 303 & 30.06 we were using were less so. The 30.06 had a double trigger set up (cant remember the name, basically you pull the first trigger to set the trigger, then when your finger just so much as grazes the second trigger, it goes off. It is made for people who flinch when shooting and thus allows them to shoot more accurately. I found it hard to shoot.)
To clarfy, 375 magnum is one helluva big rifle, 357 was the revolver.

hmmm, yeah, i shot a .17HMR the other week, quite something.
the bullets are actually quite sharp to touch, sounds strange when suppressed.
that had a very sensitive trigger, good to shoot a inch group at 50m with.
357 mag is a cool gun, it would be good to use one with the 357 rounds.
tried one of those lever action '44's or '357's?
the look like a good short gun.

357 mag
You have twigged about the whole .357 / .375 thing, haven't you?
A .357 Remington Magnum cartridge has a 32mm long case and is used for killing these:

While a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum cartridge has a 72mm long case and is used for killing these:

If I was you Carver I'd go call Bretts bluff. :devil2:
Whats the worst that could happen?
If your lucky Brett will be a light feather weight.
Could be an easy beat.
If not, ... oh well from what you say you like walking on the wild side dont you.:bye::bye::bye:

With all this talk of shooting, I'm wondering how good the moron few are at standing in a circle and hitting the biscuit (and how many times Carvers had to eat it). :msn-wink:

Neither Carvers or Sidewinders bikes are capable of doing 150kmph, but good troll
Indeed and on another thread about the tard he has even admitted it. Two up, Tui moment for sure.
DUDE!, he's talking about a 375 magnum, use a pistol designed for that bullet and your wrist would never be the same again!
And shoot an angry elephant with your S&W 357 and you'll be in a power of trouble.
Scumdog. You'd think so but apparently not.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhgVtWLhpoE
Never shot one myself but just look at that muzzel jump.
Even heard of a guy who chambered a Thomson Contender for 45-70 Govt now thats gotta hurt.
I have completed many IPSC matches with both 357 & 44 mangnums even used a 50cal Desert Eagle once.
Can shoot my 357 all day long without much trouble however a 44magnum with hot loads wiill start to hurt after about a dozen or so rounds and is not too quick in aquiring the next target becasue of the recoil.
The Desert Eagle is ok too but not very good for competition as it takes too long to aquire your next target again lots of muzzel lift.
As for shooting at an elephant with a 357 magnum..... Probally about as clever as ole Carver giving a hitchiker a ride without a helmet.
The mere thought of the mc loose with real guns scares the shit outta me.

I disagree.
If they shoot like they talk your probally pretty safe.
cos thats all they seem to do TALK. :bleh:

I dont think I have been about 55kg since I was under 12! Currently I sit over the heavy weight limit. Doesn't mean he couldn't give me the learn though. There are some kids still in school that would give the average grown man a lesson in pain.

Carver are your posts a desperate cry for help or do you suffer an extreme case of Penis Envy? You come across as a liitle man with a little dick and a big mouth. You should drive a sports car cause they make your cock look bigger apparently.
I know the main reason you hang out on KB is because you think it's a gay bar and you might pick up some fellow pillow biter, but I'm sure any self respecting homosexual would steer well clear of you because of your immaturity. Are you old enough to actually have a licence?

Sorry, my bad - but you must have an ubersensetive butt if you think a Nightster vibrates a lot - try a 1340 solid mounted shovel-head and THEN you'll feel vibration. (but still quite tolerable imho - but then I'm rough. loud and uncouth.)

how many of you would pick up a hitchhiker, despite the fact that he/she has no helmet.
i did today, and i still had to race sidewinder, so i went hard as with this 50 ~y/o dude on the back of the motard, no helmet(for him), 150pkh flat tack down the divvy in raglan!
its good fun picking them up and then scaring the shit outa them aye!
anyone else do this?
you would have to very dumb to pick up someone who might not have any experience on a bike and has no helmet then do 150km/h.
