No details on the Mitas website. What pressures are you running on- and off-road?

Thanks

High 20's/30 ish on road and 20 ish off road. Can't go much lower off road without rim locks (which I'm guessing you dont have).

Sounds similar to what I'm currently running. I thought that, being crossplies, they'd want a little more pressure. Do you run a little less in front?

Thanks

Hi ya,
29F & 33R. Just the normal recommended pressures for my bike. Seem to do OK. Cheers.

whats the road noise like from the EO7/9....is the 09 the more off road one??
might use as a replacement on the KLR

cheers

Yip - EO9 is similair to TKC80, where as EO7 is between that & road tyre.
If you are going off road at all, fit the EO9. They handle surprisingly well on road as well.
Road noise not bad, nothing like a knobbly on my bikes anyway.

I have E07's on the Transalp, they're... um... quite LOUD. They howl at anything over 40km/h, I think it sounds cool. This in addition to being excellent both on seal and gravel, reasonably priced and apparently lasting forever (although I can't confirm this). I run around 18psi F and R off road, and 30 F & R on road.

Cheers

I didn't find them loud on the DR.
Not saying you're fat or anything :innocent: but I wonder if it's a weight issue?

:puke: - fat tranny (always wanted to use that smiley LOL).

The tranny in question is well traveled (been round the block a few times) and has done a few KM's on E09's.

Nope, I agree with Nordie, I do not consider the E07s to be loud either.
They may produce some noise compared to a more roady tyre but I've run others that are a lot louder.
I could/can never hear the E07 noise out of town. All i hear then is wind and because of the wind noise I do wear earplugs most the time and always out of the 50km/hr zones.

As he said, SkinnyBirdman hasn't had the Transalp long enough to wear out a set of E07s, before he got it I always ran it with E07s once I discovered them, or knobs like the E09.
If I am not putting proper knobs on my bike then the E07 is my compromise tyre of choice.

Surely you jest?

But seriously it could be the additional weight of the bike. I don't think anything on the bike is slogged out eg. bearings and such like, to make the noise I am hearing.

Dunno, the previous owner could put away the pies too I hear.

Bumping an old thread here...

Haven't ridden with Mitas before - I've stuck to D606 and Kenda K270 on the AT so far but think I might give an E07 or E09 a fang.

How's the E09 on the road and what sort of K's are you getting?

How's the E07 off road, and apart from Nordie's sick 15000km and Underground's mad 9000km efforts, what sort of K's are normal people getting?

LMS imports still the place to go?

I could scratch my feet on the road with E-09's on the rear of the GS's. I used to get about 7-8000km per tyre, but I'm not as aggressive a rider off road as you. They can skip on down changes in the damp if your not smooth.

The E-07 is good on anything dry, and I've found them ok in wet as long as it's not muddy. Also of course not as good as a proper knobbly in sand. They are a very square profile.

Loving the E09s:woohoo:
Great in the dirt and plenty of road grip too :)

Following on the thread about tire pressure...

I went on the kapi-mana trail ride and the terrain had everything, steep rut, slippery as clay, mud holes, steams, hard pack, steep grassy, wet pine forest, you name it.

I rode my 690 with at least a half worn E07..I was a tad worried about grip, so I dropped the pressures way down 10, and I was amazed how well this tyre works!

I've pumped it back to 25ish.

...like the others, these tyres are quiet for a offroad capable tyre.

Eo7's any where from 15 to 23 k on the 1150Gs, Eo9's up to 9.5 k on the rear
both handle well on the seal & the 7's are pretty good in the wet on seal & gravel not so good in mud
I've been using these tyres for about the last 5 years

Yeah I have the same noise from my 07 tyres on my transalp..I decided it was the tyres not bearings etc..
Getting great mileage out of them..10,000km so far..

I'm getting about 10 - 11k out of my last two E07's on the rear of my 990. Running around 30 psi. But rear tyres are evil & they must be punished !

Cheers G.M.

I run 30 when using them on the beamer, as they tend to light up if you take off in a hurry :innocent:
