Have SpankMe's permission for this.. so putting it out there to kb land! :2thumbsup
Ok.. here's the deal.. I am organising the Nelson area Summit Rescue Helicopter run for the 28th June.. so I spent the day out today getting sponsorship from several wonderful local businesses for the run.. & a few others have asked for my request to be in writing.. so they can show the General Manager to get the 100% official go ahead.. eg: Couplands to supply bread for the bbq.
So.. please can someone come up with a "KB letterhead" for writing official type letters on..?? :wait:
Maybe if people could submit their idea on here.. & then I think SpankMe and/or Mental Trousers need to have the final say as to what is accepted..
Keep in mind, that this could be something that could be used for all sorts of "official letter" type thingees in the future.
Also.. :shifty: I need it.. in the next day or two...
Cheers :wari:

"Official"?
Please explain.
Given that this site's members can't agree whether or not countersteering exists, how on earth do you expect to get a mandate for any correspondence you enter into on an "official" basis?
I have very grave concerns about this initiative.

I can print some. I could design as well but I'm not good at it. Maybe someone else design and I'll print? How many are you thinking of? I'm guessing 100 would last a while.

"Official"?
Please explain
By official.. I mean that it is some kind of "recognised letterhead" that someone like a "General Manager" (eg: from Couplands) can read a letter from & see that it is a "genuine" organisation that they will be supporting. Rather than just a letter on a piece of paper, with someones signature on the bottom.. but no "organisation" represented..
something like that anyway..
clear as mud...?

I reckon all it needs to be is: the logo at the top of this page... the bike pic, with KiwiBiker next to it.. & the bit written underneath.. :2thumbsup
I tried to cut & past it..
didn't work..
So seeing how as I'm about as useful with a computer, as tits on a bull.. surely someone out there can replicate a simple logo like that.... :wait:

I'll do it tomorrow. I did some coreflute signs last year and I'm sure the logo is at work.
I can send you a PDF to print or a jpeg to put into Word. Which do you want?

Ah - the job isn't over yet, someone artistic might come up with something more eye-catching if they think about it a bit longer. I'm good but not perfect - lol  Usually a few suggestions can make a world of difference - this is a good place to start tho'.
You'll need to double-click in the footer to change the contact details there. Other than that just type over what I've got there. The date will automatically update each time you open the letter. :2thumbsup
If you want to change that just delete it - sometimes it can be a pain if you want to go back to check when you wrote the letter. :)

Anything written on KB letterhead must first be approved my MT or myself before being used.

considering the avid promotion that kiwibiker is not a club or a group and is JUST a website from Spank and the general population this has to be a joke doesnt it?

Indeed. Do do anything otherwise would, at best, be dishonest.

I'm with Hitcher on this. The letterhead you need is from Nelson area Summit Rescue Helicopter. Afterall it is they who are being supported by Couplands et al and not KB per se.

Well I have a replacement logo for the letterhead (not on the black background) if this is going ahead...
Someone let me know.

And yet, without Kiwibiker, the June 28 Nationwide Event would probably not be happening.

True. But Kiwi Biker provides a way for enthusiastic individuals to share resources and great ideas. It's not a club, association or legal entity. To represent it as such is, as I have said earlier in this thread, dishonest.

I hear that loud and clear, im way to enthusiastic to be otherwise...

Anyway, KB is not a club or organisation.
Didn't spank previous post that KB is not a club and never will be, and is to be considered a website with a message board for people to communicate and nothing more. In that respect.. KB letterhead on a letter means..? Nothing?
Though there are some here who treat "KB" as a club

leaving a hard core of dedicated volunteers to do everything, then bitching an d moaning without contributing anything positive? Yup, it IS a club.

A letterhead for KB business purposes would be handy. Thou most communication is done over the net.

The letters I required are being done on Summit Rescue Helicopter letterhead, so no matter to me now anyway ;)
& just so you know.. I was not advertising this event to potential sponsors as a "KB" event.. I was telling them that individuals from around the country (who are also all members of KB, an internet based forum) are organising their own runs on the same day, for their own regional helicopters.
However as I am not an expert at seeking sponsorship & funding on such a large scale, as I am trying to do for this run.. when put on the spot & asked for a letter in writing by the potential sponsor, all I could think of.. on the spot.. was a KB letterhead.. have since realised that yes, it needs to be on Summit Rescue Helicopter paper & have arranged this! :niceone:
Does this appease the bandwagon jumpers??? :bleh:

An idea for a better approach in the future is to write up a letter on behalf of Spank, have him go over it and him sign it - KB letterhead on the top of the letter
Letter can contain something like
"My name is... I run www.kiwibiker.co.nz which is a large community of motorcyclists of various kinds.
While we have different reasons for riding, it is without hesitation that majority of, if not all active users of kiwibiker would be willing to donate some time or effort in fund raising for......
In that respect I believe it's important for ...... to help ........ in fund raising, which it will allow for not only motorcyclists to benefit, but everyone in the community"
Just an idea Jen
