okey dokey heres my situation...
i purchased a new bike in feb and had it shipped down to me the bike had not been regoed in new zealand but has its vin number. the owner posted the blue mr2a form so i could regester it but i have lost the form entirely i have serched everywhere. i went into VINZ to see if they could print off a new one for me but they said i need to contact the importers of the bike who vined it so they can confirm that the bike isnt stolen etc. i was told to contact "motor trade supplies" in wellington but i can not find them even 018 has no record.

wot do i do now im stuck between a rock and a hard place

Motor Trade Supplies might not be their trading name. Do a company search online.

take the vin to the cops get them to sign a form, get seller to send you a signed letter saying he sold it then pay ay money. Not hard just a littile more stuffing aroud.

When i did it, it was: get the vin number, visit the AA and pickup the form (which is nothing special) then take it to the cops to scribble on, and that was it...

so can i sort it owt with the cops?? the vinz guy told me he couldnt print off a new form because theres no way to prove i hadnt stolen it and was just trying to regester it under my name...

thanks for the help guys ill take it to the cop shop tomorrow
