I arrived at AMPS last Thursday for the Voxan's 5000km service dripping wet from the ride up from Tauranga and I'm sure I'm not the only water catchment zone to ever cross their threshold.
What? No drying room? No coffee or tea on offer? Cagers get better treatment. So are there ANY bike shops that offer such creature comforts?
I'd be keen to hear others views on this topic.
That aside, the Voxan feels like she's receive a fair bit of pampering, and that original 40 tooth sprocket has made the bike far more user-friendly, particularly on decelleration.
Don't get me wrong AMPS, I appreciated the good service you provided, but for one of the largest and "out-there" bike shops in the country I feel you could do better. Cheers, and thanks for being friendly and helpful.

You couldn't have come upstairs. There's free coffee, tea, cappuchino's, hot chocolate, Comfy couches, magazines, a variety of DVD's (rear projection TV).
Not to mention the stimulating conversation of my colleagues and I.
I confess to the lack of a drying room, but our blindingly efficient service means that you're not here long enough to need it. :first:

Don (owner) fully knows his stuff, plus the are a bike shop with people that actualy ride bikes, road, track, and dirt, so you get the best gear and advice no matter what your in2.

What tyres ya get mate, those m1's??
Yep I was going to get Racetecs front and rear but can't afford to replace them in a few weeks time so I got something with a little more milage. They feel good too. I guess when you ride your bike on the road 98% of the time it makes sense to get tyres designed for the road and not the track.

How many bungee cords did it take to secure the BBQ to the back of the Gixxer??? And did they throw in the gas bottle?
I know what you mean Jimbo. Its a friendly place. People need to stop slagging off ALL the bike shops, compared to other retail businesses I reckon Bike shops shine :sunny: .MD

did You get the deal on the M1's. A little birdy suggested there may be some more coming up in a couple weeks... hope it's true as i'll be keen for some more. I find them to be a good tyre and they have good feedback grip-wise.

Odd, the last time I was there, granted it was a couple of years ago, they had a coffee machine up the back of the shop you could help yourself to, plus a sofa and a couple of magazines to idle the time away while waiting for whatever it was you were waiting for.

Wellington Motorcycles, was too lazy to read through all these to see if someone mentioned them, but they are fantastic. Get offered coffee even when just parusing! Hence why I brought my bike from them!

I am aware of a water cooler and I'm sure they have got a staff room that could be used. I've been known to just walk in and place my gear on the deck while satched. I'm sure the others would oblige if asked also. :scooter:
