I'm bored!!!
When work gets boring and my mind starts to wander (and gets past the hot woman I met overseas!!) it gets to adventure biking with you lot!!
We need to have another ride in the planning stages!! I missed Triboys (and from the reports) excellent ride to Kawhia. So who is up for another Kiwibiker overnighter?
So;
Where do we go?
Who can organise it?
When do we do it?
etc etc
I don't know the area that well but wondered if a ride based somewhere around Turangi (is there a good country pub anywhere around there that we could stay in) so the Auckland and Wellington team don't have too far to go.
So guys what are your thoughts. I am happy to try and organise one in the Naki but we have done this area a couple of times.
So what do you all reckon?

"Vivian, Vivian, Vivian! Honestly, everytime something explodes around here, it's always Vivian, Vivian, Vivian!"
Neil: Come on guys, I don't think we should let this experience bring us down. After all, what's so wrong with dirty clothes anyway?
Rick: Yeah! you know, what they say - dirty pants, clean botty.
Mike: Dirty duvet, dirty mind.
Vyvyan: Yeah - my knickers are so old, it's only the stubborn understains that are holding them together.
thanks for reminding me of a classic tv series

Indeed we need another ride!
My bikes have been parked up for two weeks, too busy with the kinlieth shut and carting concrete panels to some town house project in New Plymouth along with stuff like in the photo bellow...
Someplace like http://www.clubhabitat.co.nz/ We stayed here once for some reason i cant remember once, it was great! When your medication says dont take alcohol while taking these... its a good idea to take the advice, probably why i cant remember why i stayed there...... :apint:
Could do the 42?, fishers track?, up the Tukino road around and up to the ruapehu ski field and anything else in the area.......

Not grounded, currently attempting suicide by trail bike which is proving slow and painful.....also off on holiday in June so just not around to go riding.
Mind you, when I am lying around in the tropics I can almost feel a burst of sympathy for anyone riding around the central plateau.:cold:

In the song with Cliff Richard, (Living Doll)

so no big hunk can steal her away from me"
Neil made a background comment,
"Well I feel sorry for the Elephant"

I will check with the commander.
Possibly another bach o/nighter in Kawhia.
I have noticed that my willy has "turned turtle" due to the climate, so "hard man" adventures are off the cards for me. (I now know what Chode really looks like).

All sounds good.
As an extra incentive, now that I travel as one, I do have room in my panniers (next to my pillow) for a couple of nice bottles of red!

welcome back Young1 - sounds like travels were fun :devil2:
I'm watching this thread with interest - I had in mind another excursion back to Whangamomona and thereabouts - suitable for Jaffas and those of us from Wellywood - Kawhia sounds like a weekend and some leave?
cheers to you all - Aslan :Playnice:
PS and yes I'd plan on riding the leven fifty so maybe the 42nd traverse is out but I'd be up for doing Fishers Track which I did in March on my little DR.

Hi Steve how are you?
As I said I am happy to arrange an overnighter at the Whangamomona pub. Maybe we could explore a bit more around Tarata etc where we did not go last time?
Yes travel was lots of fun. India was certainly an adventure!!

Hi Mike - all's good thanks - CCA was an excellent event.
Glad to hear you enjoyed India. I'm keen on a Whangamomona rerun - couple weeks after Queen's Birthday perhaps to allow for those doing the Brass Monkey or HUB - say 16/17 june - ie ahead of Clint's ride in July.
Another option same weekend would be National Park / Owhango/Raurimu - might be able to access a Ski Lodge at Raurimu - depending on whether the ski season has started by then.
Cheers Stephen O aka Aslan

Nothing much different, just the same route in the opposite direction, start in Reporoa or thereabouts, Minginui, Waikaremoana, bunk at Journey's End Station again, Matawai, Motu & out.
Cheers
Clint
