(Shane, pls remove the north island prefix for me if you can? stupid rule. tks mate)
Wassup bitches!
It’s been a while huh? I know you’ve all been missing me, but I’m sure in time you’ll learn how to deal with the loss.
Anyway, seeing as I’m now living in the world of hot European chicks and the fact that I’m such a good cunt, I thought I’d offer to organise a Euro trip for ya’s. Here’s what I’ve got in mind…
Fly into Amsterdam where I’ll pick you up and take you somewhere with a hot shower and a warm bed. Once you’re over your jetlag, we’ll grab the rental bikes and head across to the UK on the ferry. From there we ride to the Isle of Man and spend about a week at the TT. Then we ride back across to the channel tunnel via the Triumph factory.
Basically from there we ride France-Spain-Italy-Switzerland-Austria-Germany and back into Holland making stops at the Ducati factory, BMW factory and the Nurburgring plus wherever else you fancy. Finishing off with a weekend enjoying the Assen MotoGP round before putting your tired arses back on the plane and heading home to cold, wet NZ.
This trip would be over June 2010. Cost? here we go…
These costs are all estimates obviously and are based on current prices and exchange rates. Be prepared because Europe isn’t cheap.
Fights, Akld to Amsterdam, return: €1500 $3000NZ
Food, accommodation & fuel (for approx 6000kms): €3000 $6000NZ
IOM tickets (5 days), Ferries & Tunnel, MotoGP Tickets €525 $1050NZ
Total: $10050NZ
Plus: Nurburgring - 1 lap: €21 $22NZ
4 laps: €70 $140NZ
8 laps: €135 $270NZ
15 laps €235 $470NZ
25 laps €370 $740NZ
Plus: Bike rental (for 4 weeks & 6000kms)
R1 €2520 $5040NZ
K1200RS €2350 $4700NZ
GSX-R 750 €2140 $4280NZ
1400GTR €2080 $4160NZ
Sprint “ “
R6 “ “
Tiger €2000 $4000NZ
FJR 1300 €1980 $3960NZ
Fazer 1000 “ “
V-strom 1000 “ “
ZX-6R €1960 $3920NZ
SV 650 €1690 $3380NZ
XJ600S €1290 $2580NZ
Please note that this list of rentals is only a guide and is by no means exhaustive. I would hope to get a group deal to make things a bit cheaper. You may notice there’re no Honda’s on the list, it’s not an accident. If there are girls interested then perhaps we can find a price for a Honda.
Oh, and if you really must, you can have a Harley for €2380…
But we’re not waiting for you.
Another thought… It’s probably cheaper to ship your bikes over as a group. I’m not sure about the legalities/ insurance, etc, but we can look into that.
This budget does not include things like travel insurance, speeding fines, alcohol, etc. It’s up to you how much you want to spend on those sort of things.
As a side note, there is a possible place for someone to drive a support car. This could be ideal for the missus who wants to come to Europe too but doesn’t want to be stuck riding bitch for 6000km’s or something like that. At this stage the car will be a Porsche (may change in 2 years but will be something similar) so it should still be a fun trip for the driver.
Ok, when I initially thought of this I had hoped it would come in at around $10K. Obviously, once everything’s added up, that was a bit unrealistic. However, this is pretty much what I envisaged as the ultimate Euro trip, but it’s only one of many possibilities. If it doesn’t suit you, but you are interested, let me know what kind of budget and/or trip you would like and we’ll see what we can come up with. Either way, it’s not going to be cheap. Hence why I’m giving you 2 years warning.
