Me on my Tiger 100 at the Isle of Man TT in 1969. Excrutiating dress sense in the form of a green cardigan, orange tee shirt and suede boots didn't stop me pulling the lovely Anne McGregor from Glasgow who was there on holiday. The other photo is of the Tiger 100 in "Marlon Brando" guise when I was about 20.

Oh the shame of it.....:eek5:

I like those mirrors on stalks in the first photo. No chance of "all elbows" in those bad boys.

Sob... I have no pictures on my first bike... a reminder for everyone here to take pics as memories fail or they just can't be described.

I'd love to see my widdle Suzuki AC100 about 1964 to 69 vintage (I had it in 1976 to 1981 with upswept pipes for off road use, ha and even then we had to weld the metal fatigue rips). If she ever broke down you just changed her plug (they felled up every 300km or so, yes I was was probably running rich but i didn't know that then), sandpaper the heads and away she went.

Sigh.... now that was a bike.

Over 70 mph, they used to fold back and trap my arms:shutup:. Wind blast was largely why I fitted the dropped "ace" bars shown in the Isle of Man photo.

Hahaha - I don't know whether to come round and tag your wall or thank you for a stroke of genius! If I'm his real dad, I'm sure he'd pay good money to make it all go away:cool:

I'm glad I have sons. I can always just say I was window-shopping for partners for them, can't I? :shifty:

I think I'll need to scan some pix. The only one I have of my first bike is from after it collided with a car at 40 mph or so. Alas - all the bikes I've owned are lame, and I'm far from photogenic.

Unfortunately, I've got none of my Dad from when he had a Douglas, but I've got some nice scanned ones at home of my father-in-law (RIP) on a Mac Velocette, taken when he was cruising around Northland.
