Hey Trudes, did you ever pop that side cover off to look at the clutch? Something must be wrong somewhere for the clutch to behave like it does. Someone will have parts around to fix, or maybe it is obvious, Drain the oil & pop the cover off. (needed an oil change anyway) Tell us what you find. I can pop around one night to check if needs be.
I mean unless it is obvious it's the cable or lever arm.

Hey Dave, haven't had a chance yet, although when I took it out for a test run after getting the chamber sorted, we adjusted the clutch a bit so it didn't engage the second the lever was released slightly and it took quite a lot of that initial bite out it. Maybe next time it's in need of an oil change I could do it at the track when you're there so you can have a squizz. :)

Nigel found an RS125 shock on tardeme, but it was not cheap and I'm just a little concerned I will end up with the same issues. He also found a place in the States that sells the springs, all different lengths etc, do you want the link? I have no idea what size I need so haven't really followed it up. Am hoping to have a chat with Mr Bagshaw to see if he can offer any advice.

That RS shock is for a later model as I assume yours is the pre95 model shock & that was post 95. They are a different fitment & length so I don't know if it would work on your bike, but maybe it would.
Yeah by all means fire us the link. The only ones I saw were for post 95.
I was thinking of talking to Steve, but all his Motoacademy stuff was post 95. Been a while since he had a 94.

He did seem to be cuddling the rangi while riding. It was getting a bit porno for a while, you may need to clean the tank. The dirty boy.

It was a bit graphic wasn't it. He's been sending him love texts all day too "I can't stop thinking of you Rangi", "What are you doing next weekend?", "I Wish I was still riding you" etc etc.

Righto, I think I'm done.
It seems I've grown up and my career and home are more important to me than racing buckets and seem to take up all of my energy and spare time that I used to be able to devote to it.
So as I see it I have two options, either sell my beloved Rangi, which hurts my heart just thinking about it as I still love him dearly and he's essentially race ready with new piston and all his holes fixed, OR the other option I've been mulling over is exploring what it would take to road worthy the little beasty and ride him to work everyday, which would make me very very happy.
So, I guess it comes down to anyone wanting a mean little Rangi machine and making me a reasonable offer or better yet someone giving me a clue of what would be needed to get him back on the road. (Actually tyres might be the first issue for that, can you still get treaded tyres that size?)
Thoughts?

Have you considered the 3rd option.
Multitasking..............
Career and home are important but so is doing stuff just for yourself.
All work and no play makes ................
Race bike on the road, get a legal chassis swap the bits over.

Haha yep, totally agree.
I have lost the passion for it though I have to admit.
I love Rangi, not so much the racing.

5th option:
Take plug out & fill engine with oil, take weight off tyres & cover with tarp.
Buy that dirtbike. Have fun & get re-energised.
2yrs you may get the bug again. Its not like we're talking about serious money after all.
