Just sold my 06 FZ1-N and bought a new 08 model. The 06 was a cool bike but they had a fuelling problem due to the way they were tuned to meet the emmission standards. I had fitted a Fuel Cut Eliminator from Ivans in the States which had solved the problem but the new one is sorted. It has transformed a good bike into an awesome bike.
The guy that bought my Yellow 06 ordered a Belly Pan which we fitted before he left. It looks pretty cool. Might have to get one for the 08.
At this point I am pretty jealous.
Is that the 06' in the 3rd pic?... looks stunning mate!
Did you buy from that place behind MacDonalds on Te Rapa rd?
I really want the 08' FZ1S.....they have a red and black on there, well on TradeMe they do.

I see that...Question? Is the red a 'deep red' like the in the pic? I have seen others that take on an orange look.
We tried to ring you a few weeks ago about it, maybe on a Sunday but you weren't at work.

Howdy, got an '06, if you don't mind my asking how much did the Ivan's FCE cost you to land here?
Cheers Sarge.

I can get you a FCE (Fuel Cut Eliminator) for $300.00 and they take about an hour to fit. It makes a huge difference.

You should bring some in and flog em for $400 fitted.
Supposed to give you more mid-range too I understand, opens the secondary butterfly's earlier, that would be nice too.
Just fitted an Arrow pipe, awesome!

Go nuts. Get a PC3 too.
With a PC3 and a few simple breathing mods you can pick up big power right through the rev range.

Oh shit I was only joking (kinda) I will be into that when I can afford it.
Pm me an e-mail address and i'll send you a couple of pics of the pipe.
No pc3 or filter.....yet. Already happy with the improvement the pipe made, apparently the FZ's turn on real well with a few of the mentioned mods, got access to some Graves velocity stacks too, when I can afford to buy the off the guy.

Dudes, what would you recommend in regards to tuning of an FZ1-N 07' ?
Have the following:
- Full Akrapovic exhaust,
- aftermarket air filter
- Power commander 3
Read somewhere that the air box needs modification??
After market parts - where and what and what not??
By the way - don't get the bike before Saturday(14/06-08) so have only been riding the bike for under an hour!!

Have you had it mapped?
If not, don't - yet. Cut the bottom off of the airbox ON THE DIRTY side of the filter first.
Ivans Fuel Cut Eliminator (opens the secondary flies sooner) and smaller secondary flies.
Factory Pro velocity stacks.

When we fitted the Fuel Cut Eliminator we cut the bottom of the airbox out, as per Ivan's instructions.Due to the way they are designed only half of the air filter was being used. With that done, a DNA filter fitted and the FCE it was a different bike.

I am impressed that a dealer does what's best for the bike's performance, rather than just going, "Oh no no - it's supposed to be like that!"
Does it affect the warranty, modifying the bike?

It's a Yamaha, do you really need a warranty?

Finally fitted my Ohlins rear shock and Ohlins fork springs last week. And of course it has been raining ever since. Had yesterday off work and the sun was out for a change, so I got to do a couple of laps around my "Test track"
It has made a huge difference to the handling and the bumpy roads in the Waikato.
