It is very interesting to meet up with other bikers, it appears that some bikers are real happy guys when they ride, isnt this what it's all about, the love of riding, the journey, talking about rides and you bikes, the near misses and fun things that happen, easy friendly chaps and ladies young and old, to talk to when you stop at a roadside petrol station, coffee shop etc. Yes, this is part of the biking I love good conversation and good on most all you KBrs out there that enjoy and partake in this too.
It pisses me off then when you meet other bikers that get off their machines, with squashed jam-tin faces, they look like they have been given speeding ticket and give off a presence that all the other bikes in the world are shit except their own, will never wave at any other biker, and generally look as bad as " if this fun what the hell do they act like when the are not riding"
I doesnt piss me off for long though, cos i know what I love, and thats just riding ANY machine, and I'm sorry for those that cannot express or show any enthusiam for riding or maybe they are just too ho-hum or cool about it all.
If you are a kiwi and a motorcyclist for "love of riding", enjoy it, and show others you enjoy it too...you can be a long time dead... and not just from the shoulders up!!

You would be naive to think that everybody has fun on a bike and a bike is the only way to have fun. Some people are just plain scared by them, not enjoying leaning etc. I dont get why people who do not enjoy them ride them tho.
You should be slightly paranoid to be a good rider. You need to realise what risks and dangers are actually out there, and how dangerous it is.
The trick is keeping the two in balance.

Jees... U should jump off that bike screaming: "I fucking love this", and then jump back on as you can't see the reason to stand around talking BS when there is riding to do!!

Everyone else's bike is nicer than mine ;)
I generally look really angry after riding because everything has pissed me off. People moving into your way when you're lane splitting since you should not ever be allowed to pass their 4x4 in case you kill their children, people cutting you off after seeing you but acknowledged the fact that you're only a bike and you can slow down for a car, pedestrians doing the same whilst having an arrogant look and slow, up themselves stride, my bike presenting a new problem like the lights flashing at cops trying to draw attention to the bike missing a tail fairing, ear plugs not cancelling out noise and just making my ears hurt, hitting reserve soon after putting all my money into the tank and still not having enough and ending up walking the bike home hungry since I didn't have any money for food, expensive tyres chewing through quickly yet still trying to high side me when I hit a cats eye, the car that I had to follow doing 70 in a 100 zone speeding up to 110 in the passing lane and a cop coming by as you're passing it at 140+ and forced to brake heavily and having my head nearly shaken off by my brand new warped brake disk that cost me my old RG150 and the car manages to dart past at 130 since they were so offended by you overtaking them and then you're forced to follow them again doing 80k, all whilst I'm freezing my nuts off since I can't afford decent gear if I want to be able to transport myself without having to take public transport and dealing with the mongrel mob/former school bullies that see your blue shirt and start making racial slurs against me since I'm apparently from an opposing gang.
If I was presented with a red button that would blow up the world when pressed, would I hesitate?

Why do you let all of that stuff piss you off? Make the choice to not be bothered by other motorists, deal to slow cars in a safe illegal way etc.

Here I thought the paranoid label was relating to the "everybody are out to kill you", "don't display an L-plate, because they're out to kill you", "keep a ballbearing handy at all times", "take their wing-mirror off, best way to teach them to give you space" -types.
As for people not being sporadically social - just because you share a less common means of transportation - who cares? It's not being paranoid - maybe less sociable than some, but surely not paranoid. Sometimes conversation just happens, sometimes it doesn't...
Personally, I go out riding to enjoy myself, not because I feel a need to make friends or talk bullshit with everyone who's on two wheels. Actually, sometimes I just go out by myself enjoying the solitude, the twisties, the scenery and the scream of 18,000 RPM. :D

AND I DO BLAME THE POLIVE FOR THIS, no matter what other people say. They are the reason I dont enjoy it as much anymore.

I ride for all types of reasons and in all types of moods...be they happy and friendly or surly and snobbish moods.
Yes I will always (unless it isn't practical) wave at other bikers but when I get off I ain't always up for the tediousness of making a new contact...you know all that uncomfortable smiling and making small talk?! Ewww - sometimes I could just vomit  Seriously though it requires a level of energy and 'desire' that I don't always have.
Sometimes I ride because I want to be just in my own head.
When I ride I am not just someones wife, mother, employee - I am actually completely me and fully focussed on something that is well a little bit selfish.
...don't take it personal if people aren't as happy, interested and outgoing as YOU think they should be...maybe they did just get a speeding ticket, maybe they just out for a blat after discovering their wife in bed with another man - whatever!
Just enjoy YOUR ride and those days where people on bikes around you want to have a chat with you, and when they don't or the vibe is getting you down - just enjoy the solitary awesomeness of going for a nice hammer on your primo machine
