I'm a new member in need of a new project. Just finishing off an sl125 (for her) have a CB350 and desperately want an SL350 (a K2 would be nice, beggars can be choosers) to make a happy little motorbike family. I recently sold my old CB500f so there is a space in my garage and in my heart for another bike and it has to be an SL350!! I am one of these "stuck on old hondas" mugs. Often passed never beaten.
I see a few on ebay etc in the states and if I can't get one here I might ship one over. Anyone know about regulations around that?
Thanks

There's NOT too many of those beasts still "breathing". Let alone available for purchase. Contact a Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club. They MAY know of one. Place an add in the PAPER.

I don't mind performing a bit of CPR or even home-surgery. Thanks for the tips. Quite like the thrill of the hunt thing anyway.

A good little pic. A classic way to tear up all the dirt roads I would have thought. There must be one out there lying in state in a shed somewhere...

My brother bought a brand new one 30 odd years ago. They weren't great then, why would you want one now.

I was looking at one just last weekend, but it is in a private museum, and there is no way he would ever part with it.

They might not be great bikes but they are cool. If I owned mvs and ducatis I'd probably wonder why too.

Of course they're cool! Original CB250/350 parallel twin in a dirt bike frame.
Actually, that's like the very inverse of my bike.

Can't do an SL350 but if anyone wants an old XR250 (twin shock, drum brake) resto project my son has one in his shed he'd like to get rid of. It runs ok, appearance is a bit naff.
PM me

It'd be the one with an engine that looks like this then?

Don't know how much Scott wants for it but if you offered $100 it would probably be yours.
Bike is in Upper Hutt (Wellington)

I wasn't trying to upset you, just there are a lot of better projects from that era (I have quite a few old Jappas too, it's not all MVs and Dukes) The original XL250S was a great bike, one of the greatest wheelstand bikes of all time too.:devil2:

If I can't find an SL then the XL is next on the list. Have had one before...still ,love those parallel twin engines and I have a spare one so maybe build a similarly styled bike around that. CB 500 frame? early XL front and rear sets. Hmm.

I know what he wants...... I have a 1969-79 SL350. Unfortunately I live in the USA. I bought mine from a friend that does auctions and cleans/buys out house lots. I got a great deal on it too. When I got it the batt. was n/g and it had been in storage for, who knows how long, the reg plate is dated 1972, it has just over 12,000 miles. I have had it for 2yrs and this will be the 3rd summer. I don't think its putting out a charge so I need to work on that. Any help there would be great.

I've always liked the look of the SL 350.......you won't find many in NZ. Ebay may be the only way to go........
