Ok, just filling in time here, but as I am loging in competeters for the battle of The buckets 08 I am having to change a few race numbers as they are doubling up.
So, what makes you choose the number that you do, must be a reason?
mines the year I was born, I heard the other day a mate choose his cos it was a number of a favorite SBK rider that fell of the perch.

I choose other numbers since 666 is always taken.
MNZ gave me 132 when I planned to enter junior motocross. So that number has stuck with me.

I had to this a short while ago... and was stuffed if I knew what to go for, and I wanted the nuber to kinda mean somthing.
So I thought may as well have somthing to do with my online user name... in txt form it would be 42 well that number was gone... so though user name and first name... lame??? yeah well 427 is was to be. It works... shame that the rider is not quite as quick at it all just yet!!!!:scooter:

42 is the answer. 24 is the fucked up answer.
So 24 is my race number.
The real reason is far more personal and you'll never get me to tell the truth. Even when pissed I make up stories.

I brought my first race bike with the number 46 on it.
I liked that number but due to my slack ordering of race numbers I had no fours when I needed to repair and repaint the fairings. So I grabbed a 6 and a 0 used them and started winning races.
Being the slightly superstitious person I am I've never changed since.
I also like number 60 as it was the number of one of Yamaha's best ever racers and my teenage hero.

And ever since he changed his race number we keep living at number 60!

and along those lines I believe Valentino Rossi uses 46, cos that was his dads number.

You got your 1st root at the age of 24...
yeah the #42 the answer to 'life, the universe and everything' think thats why a mate uses 42.

Thought you ran 68 not 58?
My number is usually based around favourite rider..
Have run 27 for a while, and I blame Fred Merkel! Also Mick Doohan used 27 in his first year in GP's and Casey Stoner also runs that number.

Actually, it was my best-est root. (See my previous post)

And Nicky using Earl's.
Earl had good logic as 69 reads the same up side down.

Well, when I first raced junior motocross back '82 (yup I'm getting to be an old bastard) I was given the ACU (remember them?) number of "265".
This was shortened to "26" for some of the championship races and I did rather well using that.
I did well back in the late '80s / early '90s using "26" as well in bucketing.
In the mid '90s I also used "79" as that was my Dad's racing number back when he raced Mach 111's (check my signature).
Anyway, come 1997 when I took up racing RS125's I tried to use "26" but a good friend of mine pinched it ( ), and he won races using it.
So I used "36" as being close. Few races in and a big highside, stuffing my RS racing. Okay, it was bad luck for me to go away from "26".
Fast forward to present day and getting back into bucketing "26" and "36" are long gone so we have Team numbers for Team Nugsty, this being 66, 69, 96 and 99.
Lady P has "96" and this seems to be working for her so I'll see where that takes me.
....and so is the days of our lives....:zzzz:

'2' was my lucky number when I believed in that sort of stuff & '7' is supposed to be lucky & they looked good forever. so I started running them erm, back about 15, maybe 17 years ago. Then I started noticing that Doohan & Merkel & several others had used the number. . . Hmm this track is starting to sound the same from somewhere:lol:
Then I started noticing that it was on the trophies I was winning (little pic of bike had 27) & then I started noticing the number everywhere. Gee I guess I'm still as superstitious.

Forty One has good feng shui and the one is easy to change to a seven if someone else turns up with the same number.
