HI People,

My almost trusty XR had had a leaky fork seal since I brought it recently.
I decided to service the forks as past history is ???
The fork oil was scary but I have seen road bikes neglected like this before.
The bad news for me is the leaking leg has a large ding in the slider and the L/H lower leg (outer) has small dent externally that actually raise the inside surface causing the teflon bush to be scraped in places.

I can't find any forks about - if anyone has a set - or say CR forks and clamps please advise as this bike is my main mode of transport to work so I'm stuffed at the moment.
Both legs really need a rechrome.

I can't get over how easy servicing this bike is - it's my first trail bike and I'm hooked big time.

Cheers
Cousin Gerard

Found a set at ATV city for $250.
The fork legs are more damaged than mine which sucks but the stanchions are better as they have no dents at all.

Was pleasantly surprised to find they are 1998 forks and
not 1996 type like mine are.
Have used the later internals etc with my fork legs.

Had to buy a 43mm motion pro seal/bush slide hammer,
$150 retail - people get killed for less!
Does the job very well though.
