Qualifying Superbikes: 8th
Took off out the front to try put down a good time early but just after completing the first lap I couldn’t see through my visor or screen initially I thought it was water but it turned out to be brake fluid splashing out of the reservoir! I pulled in after that lap trying to not hamper anyone else in there hot lap. I tightened the lid when I got back to the pits and went back out but then again same problem! I thought I better risk it for 1 lap at least so I could put down a qualifying time. I didn’t want to watch the race from the pits….. I managed 8th

<SUP>
Qualifying Super Sport: 2th
This time with no hassles with brake fluid in my eyes Johnny and I put down some good laps on a cold track to qualify 1st and 2nd
Superbike Race 1. 4th
I got a good start up to 4th behind, Nick Cole, James Mair and Johnny Burkhart by the end of the back straight Carey Brier had blitzed me and Johnny down the back straight I settled into 5th putting as much pressure on Johnny as possible. I managed to get him into the chicane at the end of the back straight on lap 2 from there I rode as hard as I could to catch the leading 3, by the checkers I was right on them but with no time left to challenge for position….
Superbike Race 2. 2nd
<SUP>
Got a cracker of a start from 8th to 2nd behind Johnny, I managed to get by on lap 1 then I just put my head down and tried to get as much gap between me and the 1000s that were sure to follow. I could see Carey coming through the field and it was only a matter of time before he had some clear space to stretch his legs and sure enough he got me on the last lap! I think he set a new super bike lap record on his way so I didn’t feel too bad and I also set a pb of a 1.34
2nd Overall
Super Sport Race 1. 3rd
<SUP>
I got a good jump off the line but Johnny and Nick got a better one so I slotted into 3rd, I put the pressure on Johnny for the whole race as he did on nick but I was just unable to find a gap so I had to settle for 3rd…
Super Sport Race 2. 3rd
<SUP>
Great start but not good enough to get around Johnny in pole position, again we set off for another battle by this time both our tyres were absolutely spent we were struggling but as I was setting up for a big run onto the back straight I had no idea Sam Smith was right behind me and I left the door wide and around the inside he went then the next lap he did the same move on Johnny they had a bit of a fight for the lead with me sticking my nose in wherever I could but that how it would end with Sam Johnny then me 3rd
<SUP>
4th Overall

You knowingly went out onto the track spraying brake fluid on to it? You don't seriously think that was fair to the rest of the field do you? I wonder if any of the bins were your fault then?
I am being extremely restrained here

I think too restrained .. I couldn't find the bike that spilt brake fluid on the dummy grid for the life of me .. and knowing that he went out knowing there was a problem ... :(

The only place the tiny ammount of brake fluid escaping from a leaking front cap, is the front screen, your visor and your leathers.
It's also far from slippery.

I was keeping an eye on it, the reservoir didnt even look like it was missing fluid infact we couldnt even find where it was leaking from but the minimalist amount when it splashes on your screen was more of a mental problem for me. I kept an eye on the reservoir the whole lap to make sure it was staying full so i had brakes etc so no no one can blame there crashes on me
Are ya looking for somone other than yourself/your mate to blame for your/their bin?
Hehe, nice try. I was the Asst Clerk of Course and the guy with the chequered.

also i didnt knowingly go out, i went out saw the problem came in attempted to fix it went back out, we did end up finding the problem was because the bracket was a bit loose and the bottle was shaking around and a bit of fluid was coming out through the tiny tiny breathing hole. The problem wasnt causing any danger to anyone or to the performance of my bike it was just a mind thing

Ok, fair enuff ... as you can imagine, leaking fluids onto tracks is just one of those dangerous things that can happen in racing.
Remember the cone in the middle of the dummy grid, between the two rows of them? That was covering brake fluid - the grid team just didn't know who/where it came from
Fantastic stuff bro, great racing by you and Johnny.
I'll say this one more time though, fuck off back to the dirt, you're making me look useless!
Good to see you there, and see you next month. Provided I haven't done any real damage to my hand that is.:baby:

So your the one that got the bikes assembled then waiting for the tyres to cool before sending them out.
(i know that you guys were worried about time etc etc)
Im pretty sure most of the crashes were in the warm up lap or the first 2 laps of the race.
Actually, for the record, I reckon the time spent on the dummy grid was minimal and a credit to the organisers given the challenges they faced on the day.
Watched a World Superbike race the other day. Teams started removing tyre warmers at the five minute board.

Seriously hope you're taking the piss here man. It was pretty fuckin easy to time it right and only sit on the dummy grid for thirty seconds before heading out!

Exactly....fuckin' things should be illegal to save what's left of my shattered ego.....
The most exciting race of the day was the second Superbike race. You had a very handy lead but once Carey Brier got past Johnny it was always gonna be a close run thing. It was a real cat and mouse game as he slowly clawed it back, you ringing the neck of the 600, him monstering you down the straights. After doing all the hard yards we could see he'd caught you just after the start of the last lap and there'd be fuck all you could do on the back straight short of kick the bugger off, and I'm sure it must have gone through your head. Great effort all the same.
