I was a security guard, contracted by the Interislander people to guard the terminal and ferries while they did their filming there for the end of the movie. The interislander manager guy who briefed me said he wasn't worried about the 50 or so extras damaging stuff, he was worried the film crew and actors would go a little over the top and blow something up, or get drunk and smash shit up.

Anyway, I got bored and so I decided to be an extra, in my Chubb uniform too.
I am at the end in the reunion scene.
Hope my boss doesn't ever see the film!

And no, I didn't know anything about the Back of the Y until sometime last year when I randomly stumbled over an episode on TV. Don't know anything about any of the people involved.

if you like BOTY then you would also like 'Trailer Park Boys'. Its a canadian show and is filmed on a similar budget. The lead bloke always has a glass of JDs & coke in one hand no matter WHAT he is doing. Even during a shootout with gang members LOL.

The Devil Dared me was fricking hilarious, fav had to be spanners Dad, he had all the best lines. Most memorable was when a young Randy Campbell and Spanners Watson came to see the Timaru Hellriders and Randy had a broken arm. Spanners dad says to the young impressionable Randy, "geez boy youve broken your wank spanner" oh and then the kids ask him what Dick Johansensen is really like "Really boys .......... hes a cock!"
