Help! Getting a motor from Wellington to Auckland

My RG500 ventilated the crankcase last weekend - A Bad Thing. I bought an RG400 motor of Trademe, and now have to get it to Auckland. It is a bit big to post...
Any suggestions, or helpful people heading north with space in a car? No hurry, as I can't afford to fix it at present. Anyone able to store it in Wellington
in the meantime?

I can collect and store it for a while if needed. and take it as far north as palmerston north whenever.
