Qualifying, F3
I had replaced the shock in the bike with one that almost works but when I started the poor VFR it was only running on 3 cylinders. I joined on at the back of the dummy grid for the practice to get used to the handling and see if the engine would actually work. Went out and spent a few laps getting used to the bike. Managed to qualify 28th on the grid.
Qualifying, Post Classics.
I had just come back from getting the F3 times and I was not happy with them. Went at the front of the dummy grid and went reasonably well. Managed to qualify 10th with a time that would have had me in the top ten of F3 qualifiers. SWEEEET
Race 1, F3
I got a reasonable start but somebody crashed right in front of me and I ended up right back where I had started and followed almost everyone through the first turn. Decided to just get used to the bikes handling and try and pass a few people.
Got one little surprise when a foot peg bounced past me coming out of turn 7 and I looked up to see a yellow bike sliding along next to the track. Came 14th.
Race 2, F3
I got a cracker start and followed stevie around the outside of about 10 people on turn one. Passed him in a few turns later and ended up 10th for the race.
Race 1, Post Classics
I got another bad start and couldn’t get past people early enough to catch up to the 400s at the front. Came 8th.
Race 2, Post Classics
Got a good start in this race and found myself with clear track ahead. Went nuts and bettered my best time by 2 seconds. That new shock is way better then the old one! Was 5th but close enough to watch 2nd, 3rd, and 4th battling it around the twisty bits. Cool!
My best time for the day was a 1.47.6 so im quite happy with that for now.
Will see you at round 2 and hopefully have the bike back on 4 cylinders too:2guns:
