I bought a motrax engine kit for my tredley coz Im gonna use it in the summer for commuting to work, 18kms a day. It took about 6 hours to fit coz a few mods were needed along the way. Heres the web address. http://motrax.co.nz/prod_petrol.htm
Anyone else got one? I havent used it yet but will let ya know how it goes.

What size did you get?

I love the comment on their website

"the bigger units look much the same and have been registered as 48cc in the past."

As they go up to 70cc, that would be a quick push bike!

Wow, 0.4 litres per 100 ks . . .

Why is my immediate thought: There's plenty of room for a big carb and a chamber?

But come on, 18ks, in ChCh? You need a fixie.

HTFU; you don't need an engine for an 18km commute.

oh yes ya do if you're as lazy and unfit as me lol!!!

I got it running this morning, a bit hesitant to start at first but that was coz the clutch was slipping and not really wanting to bite. It quickly came right and the engine fired and ran a bit sluggish for about 10 seconds. As soon as the heat got in, away she went. I went round the block a few times, speed was about 30kmh! It idles nicely with the clutch disengaged and the gearing is such that ya have to pedal up to about 5kmh before dumping the clutch, then the accelaration is fucking mindblowing(not)!!!!! Hoooorar!! Im not gonna pay rego, fuck that. I reckon any cop that pulls me over will feel so sorry for this ole grey haired codger humiliating himself in this way, he will let me off with a word of advice..."stick with the gixxer mate!" :scooter:

Nah. I was in Franz Josef at that time yesterday. Theres a few in town now, the one you saw must have a cut down zorst to be loud, mines still standard and quiet as a mouse(stealth mode lol).
I rode mine from 5kms south of Franz village(my daughter lives there) to the Glacier look out and back. Wooah!! I nearly crashed a coupla times on the dirt road leading up to the Glacier.
I stretched its legs and got 45kmh out of it and its still under powered coz its still running in hahaha! Should get 60kmh once shes loosened up and Ive done the zorst mod to it. Ill keep ya posted coz I know youre all sooooooo interested.

The chain tension idle sprocket looks a bit dodgy - what stops the chain falling off?
