Nothing to be read into though, race will be dry. Rossi to win.

Actually, it's nowhere near 'nff said.

Everybody (mostly the Aussies) laud on and on and about what a great rider Ant West must be, just look at how he performs in the rain.

I wanna know why he's almost dead last on the machine everytime it's not wet. Don't hand me that Kawasaki aint competitive shit either, Hopper doesn't have much of a problem with it.

You know what, you're absolutely right. I read Hopkins on the site and typed West. What a cock. Apologies all round.

Jiminy jiminy, my 'nuff said was a suggestion that if he's top of the timesheets then the rest of the list was so unreliable that I wouldn't bother listing them. I, like you, am completely amazed that he can be so good in the wet and crap in the dry, but then I'm not a top racer so WTFDIK.

Always wondered why some people are so great in the wet and suck in the dry.

You'd think that if they have so much feel for the bike and it's available traction in bad conditions, they could push it untill it was at the same limit under normal circumstances.

But then, I suck in the wet, so what would I know?:whocares:

I believe the Kwakas do well in the wet due to their handling characteristics. I know they have issues with getting the power down on the exit - this is a lesser issue in the wet of course...

Remember that all but one of their good finishes was in the wet. The best being second in China a few years ago.

Echo your thoughts Mr Trash, same might be said about the Aussie on the Suzuki. But thats the way it is for whatever reason ?
I read somewhere (maybe AMCN) that West's boss was taking him in hand to get his head right and improve his fitness.
Why is anyone fast in the wet , (for that matter I thought I was good in the wet for a brief spell many many years ago) must be in the head or something, and you just believe it ? Gaz.

Cant be that wet if the Mole and DePoontang aren't up the top...

What was the race last year where it was pissing down, Rossi was leading by fuckloads and then lost the race by staying out one lap too long on wets after the track dried up (or maybe it was slicks and should have been on wets)... That was an interesting race.

Yeah I watched the whole 2nd session. Toseland was fastest for first 50 mins, then the other four above him put in fast laps in their last flying laps. Not sure if they have qualifying wets?? But toseland looked really smooth and strong, stoner was right on the edge to do that lap time. Nakano and Okada both took nasty falls, capirossi also binned it. Was very wel, could see them getting out of shape at what? 280ish on the main, not my idea of fun!!

Yeah wasn't too bad, but nothing in comparison to 125's and 250's. That barbera crash, dang!! The commentators are so damn thick, how could an engine siezure make you go over the handlebars?? Front wheel drive or something lol. Was pretty damn clear that Simoncelli moved over as Barbera was passing and just hit his front brake. Not too far off Nakano a few years ago when his rear tyre blew on the Kwaka.

I could'a swore I saw him check back (was out of camera shot, but a camera on the ground further down the track caught it)

Hector had the grunt on tap, all he needed to do was keep a tighter line in the last corner and he could of had that race made, guess he wanted to prove something down the front straight though.

Instead he gets no points for his efforts. :\

No Ivan, read properly. Simoncelli moved over as barbera was coming past and hit his front brake. Catapulting him over the front, instant front brake application at 200+ with throttle still wide open means ouch!!

I think that because all of the top guys in any class are so good, that it often comes down to set up, especially in the dry. More so if your bike is having traction 'issues'. In the wet, your ability to maintain corner speed will negate acceleration that is massively amplified in the dry. Hence racers with either bike or setup problems can compensate if they have the 'feel' in the wet.

P , have you been at WMCC long ? Probably too far back , but a good example I always thought was the Dave and Nev Hiscock.
Dave was silky smooth both wet and dry , Nev, just as fast sometimes, but always on the raggered edge. hence his nickname 'Near-Miss-Nev'.
Remember we didn't have 'setup" just round black tyres! Gaz.

ps. sorry off topic there a bit folks.

Yes I know.

What i said was the what the commentators sadi thats why it says silly commentators.

I watched the race and listened to what Barbera said and I know it was caused by frotn brake being forced on on contact.

So relax pal

BTW - I have to say it's looking like your man this year. And Stoner is going to have his work cut out to beat the Spanish pygmy. :crybaby:
