I'm not happy. Had an instantanious and total engine seizure heading south on SH2 just past the Silverstream turnoff in Upper Hutt this afternoon. Revs go from 7000 to 0 in .00000000003 of a second, and the rear wheel locks and starts fishtailing all over the place. Whacked in the clutch and coasted to the side of the road.
Just wanted to say big thanks to the dude on the Aprilia (forgot ya name mate) who stopped to lend assistance and to Stewart Rodwell from TSS Red Baron for the after hours pickup.:2thumbsup:
Engine was 3500km post full rebuild (by myself - probably the problem) and was running mint. Will be hunting for a Yamaha 4DN (off an SRV250 or XV250) shortly. :crybaby:

Stink! Glad to hear you weren't thrown in the process. Will be interesting to hear the diagnosis once you crack the engine.
Could have been Bull on the Aprilia. A biker always stops for another biker.

I hate it when something is broken on my bike so I feel for you.

I'm the same but in general I've found bikers to be far more willing to stop than cagers. You might have to wait as a dozen cagers pass before one stops to check that you're okay. But then I spose there's more of them on the road so it's still not a long wait.

That be true I guess, it's also easier for a bike to pull up & dismount than a car.

Well here's a photo I took whilst waiting for my ride. Half of the Wellington motorbike community seemed to go past whilst I was waiting haha.
A definite FAIL.

Glad you are ok. that'd have put the shits up anyone.
Great reaction time!
Are you going to have another crack at repair your self? Make sure you take a few pics of the damage to post up here.
I have a hunk of clutch cover that shows a lovely wear pattern. I collected it with my leg :pinch: at the Battle of the Streets in Paeroa a few years ago, off a KTM that crapped its self in practise.
