I like it, but i donno why they had to go and stop making the 600 version for racing, why not do what kawa done and make the daytona 600rr version which is the 600 version with some trick bits, and then the normal version which is the 650, alot of people were not happy, with them chaning to 650, and not making a 600 version, would have been good to see a 600 mixing it with the jap in supersports

I mean damn, the TT was crap the daytona was good, it was a little behind in the trick bits compared to jap 600's but i never head of it being a bad saller

'Two Wheels Only cites Triumph as saying

the Daytona 600 is currently its best-selling model in Great Britain.'

It doesn't look much different from the current crop of Japanese sports bikes, apart from the colour.

However the 2005 Triumph ST Sprint is a seriously nice looking piece of kit.

Standard HD parts are quite cheap but after market are bloody exspensive.
Then again who buys standard HD parts.
I guess there's good reason the after market sells so well. ;)
From what I've read this new Triumph may not have the best forks, brakes ect but is still handles as well if not better than it's jap counter parts.
Who cares,I reckon it's ugly.

Actually i found the brakes/suspension on the trumps really good on NZ roads. All the japanese bikes i felt were to 'race-spec' for ruffed up NZ roads.
dunno bout the zx10, but the R1, CBR1000 and GSXR riders i ride with have to stop every 30min cos the ruts in the road are killing them (me too).
As for build quality - what parts in particular you having problems with?
The only recall i know is on the 97 595 that was recalled cos someone complained that their was hairline fractures in the frame after crashing the bikes
I think John Bloor has done a good job to drag a dead motorcycle manufacturer back to life :not:
Not that im sucking up so he'll give me a job or anything

HEY Avgas Try $4500 in repair's on my motor 4 Major blow up's . Big end's / 2 Head gaskets / Complete clutch ,springs / metal's /fiber's .4th gear broke in half at 170k's .Thats what i'm saying about build quality . Plus have a look at the welding on them its fucken shit . I have been weldig & teaching people to weld for over 22years. I did like my Speed Triple but they need to get their bike's up to 98% not 80% / As far as them handling as good as Jap stuff go's I think Al Borline of "Tool Time " put's it just right " I don't think so TIM " SENSEI

I think John Bloor has done a good job to drag a dead motorcycle manufacturer back to life I agree, but after pulling my stepson ancilleries off after his crash I've think I have a fair idea of how they're put together. Certainly not worth the extra premium you pay for them IMHO. But each to there own.

Man that sucks. But as reference, my RG150 had a $2200 bill to repair the motor after a bottom end seizure. Sold it and bought a new bike. This is 6 months after i spent $1000 on fairings and cosmetics.
But as for trumps being rediculous in price - i got no answer there.
Thats why i buy jappas.
