Just checking, don't laugh at me! I did mean jump start by the way not put it in. Is the current in a car battery the same as a motorbike then?

Yeah, what Boob said - with you..
Yes it is, but don't use a truck to jumpstart it.

How did the bike battery get flat?
Could be time to get a new one. Running a m/c with a tired battery can cause other issues with the charging system because the extra load it puts on it.
Basicly what I'm saying is its false economy jump starting all the time.

You speaking from experience here DB ? Not a pretty sight huh lolhaha, no fortunately. But I know enough to be able to predict what a tiny bike battery will do if you stick 24V up it.
bike batt 12V + car batt 12V = 24V
Internal resistance of fully charged car batt = tending to zero
Internal resistance of flat bike batt, a few tenths of an ohm.
P=V^2/R
P=24^2/0.02
P=28,800 watts.
Yep, 28 KILOWATTS dissapated in that tiny clear plastic bike battery! RUN! :devil2:
Even if my maths is off by a factor of ten, its still pretty dangerous.
