Nice bike!! your living out my dream mate, the only R1 I got is a 1:18 model on top of my work computer. Have fun with it.

Is this going to be your long awaited race bike?? I hope not, it looks too nice for that.

That is the plan Moto - I now have the bike and the trailer (hopefully I can wangle the new work car with a towbar - else I have to fork out for it myself......

Hmmm - maybe two bikes!!!  nahhh...hopefully this one will see some track time in summer.

Bloody quack confirmed surgery today for 25/26th September - then he reckons 5 months to get back on the bike - what the fuck is that all about!!!  5 days/5 weeks ok - but 5 months, god have mercy

Must be mistaken my man as I am speaking to the previous owner on email.......who is in Hong Kong...anywho....

Mine is mint - not a scratch on it (hopefully I keep it that way - fingers crossed)

PS - hasn't your name changed from a 2003 R1, to a 2002 R1 to now a was a 2002 R1 now waiting on 04??? - me thinks you may be just fulla shit

Can't be this one then, bought in 8/02 by the guy I am presently speaking to who is now living in Hong Kong.

If fixed by insurance piss all to worry about anyway....

Mine has been around Manfield when Richard demo'ed it, other than that just road use never dropped

The 2004 R1 should be a stonker - you will be looking forward to it......no pics out yet of the bike from what I have seen - but plenty of R&D going in to it.......next year should be interesting with all the new bikes coming out.

Interesting tho - after all my bike perusing and riding - I end up with the bike I didn't think I would get anyway!!  Funny how it happens

Too flash Wkid! :niceone:

It always amazes me how someone can buy a nice brand new bike like that, then only do 8000km on it. Get out there and "Clock em up" I say!
What colour are your leathers? Good excuse for a new set?
I personally arn't fond off black rims with black tyres. I'd paint the back rim blue too. Or maybe find some blue tyres. Would bring new meaning to the term " Off in a cloud of blue smoke"!

How about giving us a comparision between the R1 and the VTR?

Comparo - well in all honesty there is none.  I must admit - Rubber Shredder was right when saying the R1 was a gr8 bike.

I rode the 954, GSXR1K3, ZX9, Daytona, Buell, and found the R1 to be the most wicked ride - it seemed faster and quicker to steer (not as flighty as the =<01 R1's).

Comparing with the VTR - well it does everything quicker - steers, accelerates, brakes, etc - plus it looks better.  The Micron pipe makes up for some of the lack of VTwin noise - coming down the 'Taka's yesterday it has a wicked drone.  Had to compare as they are chalk and cheese in essence.

Yes I am going to Manfield - I posted an event to ride up on the 30th.
