I have a few photos from Sunday. I couldn't take any quality ones fom the Saturday's mini's as I was helping to organise it, but here are a few from Sunday.
If you have any requests for photos - let me know bike, rider kit and number details.
Nicola :)

Have you got a website you're selling these on ? I'm no longer shooting events or motocross and had a few inquiries on photos from there.

I am in the process of setting one up but I am also having difficulty in thinking of a name for it! Nicola W .co.nz is not available so I’ll just need to decide on a name. (Any suggestions greatly appreciated!) Will need to have a .com though as I am organising it through a friend in England…..
Here’s a few more.

The lovely Robin Atkins having a chat with my husband. I got a sneaky shot of him.
The rainbow one was taken yesterday (Monday) I really love it. I've always wanted to know what was at the end of a rainbow and I'm pleased to see it's an MX track! :D ;)
Trophies I handed out on Saturday at the mini event.

Thank you! :) I have a Canon 20d and a big white lens! ;)
I must admit the shots would have been a lot better if the weather wasn't so gloomy. I don't like using a flash at MX and I have adjusted the levels in Photoshop. I much prefer shooting in brilliant sunshine but you can't dictate the weather!

Ahh, sounds like a few Grand to me, I guess you've got a mono-pod to sit it on too huh... I was looking at 400d's for a bit, but I was a cheap ass since what I got was something to start out with.
The weathers only really noticeable In the air shots.
Its gotta be said though. This ones wicked:

My gear is pretty expensive but it's my hobby (and passion) and my husband and 2 sons have their bikes - I've got my camera stuff! (And they get lots of photos taken!)
I don't use a mono-pod/tripod and just prefer to catch the action freehand.
The clarity is slightly lost in that photo so I just used a warming filter in Photoshop to create that effect. I was just having a play around and I was pleased with the outcome.

:o I'd post all day - but being a new forum member, I wasn't sure...
Mr Rice was certainly lucky not to get hit there. My husband was marshalling at that point all day and a few riders span out there.

Awesome shots Nicola.
Have you anymore of Jesse Donnelly #6. Second pic in the second post.
I've sent that one to his dad. Just had a report he was second to Broxy in his last MX outing so he's coming along!

And stunning photos from you, Mr Rice! You certainly get close to the action….. I must ask - have you ever been hit by a bike in the process?
A wide angle lens is next on my wish list!

Thank you Richard. :) I didn’t really take that many photos; only a few hundred. It wasn’t really my intention to sell any but just to get a few for the Club’s website and to cheer on a friend of ours Roger Hinz - number 45.
I have this ‘endo’ one and one in a change of kit. Let me know your email address and I’ll send you over the large files.

Thanks - Been hit once from behind at AK SX.
If you use a wide angle like mine at 16mm you have to get that close, otherwise you may as well use a midrange lens, but then you sacrifice the end result.
It was not that dangerous down there for me as I had a big tractor tyre protecting my inside, looking at your pic though, I did notice my vest pocket in the rear was vulnerable to a clutch lever that would have pulled a rider down in that tight corner - I would have felt bad if that had happened, the main problem I have is the riders like to try and get as close to me as they can. It has given me an idea though, to get a digger to dig me a hole so I can get just as low and close and be comfortable ,panning that close is hard you miss a lot of heads etc.
I would like to post more here but my ties with the mags prevent me from doing so, the Junior images are up on my site now.

It all adds to the adrenalin being that close! :) I tried to achieve a similar appearance while crouching behind a tree right next to the track once! I was only using my 50 lens so it didn’t really work out  but I’m always striving for different angles.
Spent a while looking at your website yesterday. Fantastic photos! :D
