I figured i should put it here.
I joined because im thinking of getting a bike for commuting to uni and the odd weekend ride.
I am thinking of getting a CBR or VFR 400 as my mate said their pretty reliable and not tooo fast for a learner, whereas 250s all seem overpriced and just as old. Any thoughts?

i have pillioned on a GSXR and ridden a VFR up the road and back.
i dont actually own a bike as yet, so ive only been riding pink bits.

you could search in google for "pink bits" if you want to see what they look like, as im sure you may not have seen them before(its a scooter:dodge:)

Slowest one around Taupo or Mansfield on their 400 buys the beers. Umm... 400...waaaaaaay too powerful for most learners but you're obviously special.

Nobody's saying lock you up but aside from the high probability you'll crash, the main issue you'll find is that you're uninsured. Seriously dude, buy a shite old 150, have fun on it, crash it a few times, learn the ropes, pass your test and go out and buy a litre bike.

I don't know if your taking the piss in your post but you go and smash some poor cager up the arse in a VFR & your $10 week fines will be the least of your worries ...... (speaking from experience of course).

Get a 250, a lovely little yellow 'L' thingy & get insured.
