Here's a starter (http://rocketshields.com/).
Well.... I know WTF this thing is, but I'm not sure how I feel about. Despite being black and not lurid yellow, it kinda reminds me of Borat's swimsuit...

Someone should tell the guy about helmets and visors.

Nah, that would be the one fitted to the execrable BMW C1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_C1) which actually has some safety aspects. Apparently, you can fall over in the thing and as long as your arms are tucked in, avoid all damage to your personage.
Apparently (according to a BMW X-spurt I know), "it's a piece of shite!"

hehe i actually said "WTF is that" when I clicked the link!

Flipping heck there is some idiots around... *sigh*

defecating a zx10 to a commuter bike is bad enough, but trying to turn it into a cage? WTF !?

the guy commutes from mexico to San Diego on a ZX10R FFS. Its a virtually straight, flat highway...he may as well ride a Burgman or one of those BMW scooter things with the roof on them.

I think it looks kinda cool from some angles but it belongs on far less sporting machinery.

He said he has trouble squeezing his "fat cheeks" into a helmet.
My guess is he's so porky that it doesn't matter that it's a ZX10.
Oh - and the "BMW scooter thing" is the C1 I linked to in a previous post.

He already mentioned those on that link - no fogging, no tight-fitting helmet etc.

NOT my cup of tea but probably pretty practical.

No really, it has a snake like look to it...like a Cobra head.
When you think about it it's actually a blooody good idea. I'd rather see thousands of those things attatched to bikes than the thousands of unecessary cars on our roads - if it meant more cagers embraced two wheels that'd be a really cool thing me thinks.

I'm sure real bikers would still be free to ride in the wind :Punk:

That is so very wrong!!! I'm not really a Kwaka aficionado, although I do think they are good bikes. But the ZX10 is definitely one of the better looking ones and this horror just disfigures it :eek5:

The guys's mentally challenged I reckon.

I'm gonna go against the flow here and say that I reckon that canopy, plus an open-face helmet, would be an really comfortable way to travel highway miles. Who gives a rat's arse how it looks?

(The usual safety-level comments regarding open-face helmets apply, but, hey, that's the rider's call.)

Of course, one would need to have fairly big balls to put up with the mockery from all the insecure image-conscious 'bikers' out there, but, fuck 'em.

Lovely execution though. Or a good ol' photoshoppin.

Yes, that's what I thought. Classy.

I wonder how he built the prototype?

He mentions that he's working on injection mold tooling for mass production of it; that's quite a significant investment. He must be confident that it'll sell.

I'm gonna back up what jrandom said here. To some it may look arse..to others it will look cool. If someone wants to do that to their bike then fair nuff. I've seen wierder haha. As an engineer in the making I think it would be very cool to see the exact design procedure to hand make one and the sort of stresses produced on the canopy/bike itself when riding at 150mph.

Tell you what, I think you should demonstrate your immensely large cojones and unique independent spirit and BUY ONE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

The 06/07 ZX-10R is a fine motorcycle, but I don't find sprotbikes comfortable enough to own one for road riding.

If I did in fact have a Ten, I'd be quite tempted to order one of those canopies once they went into production, just for shits and giggles.

I also think it's cool and doesn't detract from the look of the bike at all. If it works well to offer more weather protection then it's a good thing.
Andy.
