I have to makes this very clear, what is happening on June 28 is NOT a Cheesecutter Protest Ride. Its a Fund Raiser for your Local/Regional Rescue Helicopter. The CC has been added as an secondary issue, the two go together very well. While alot of work has been done in both camps, it is not a protest ride only. If you feel that its the way you want to go with it ,then theres nothing I can do about that. I thank you Chri5tina for getting in behind the Event day.

PS: I am not having a go at you, just trying to make sure you understand what this day is all about. Have a read through My thread and the others to see what they are doing. Any help we can offer? just ask...Mark

It is great to see you getting this off the ground! I will send down a resource pack to you guys so you can start to get some signatures on the petition. Have a look at

www.cheesecutter.co.nz

for some background about them, there is also a .pdf petition form there you can download, or you can sign online.

The Marketing Manager for Westpac is offering a heap of helicopter money boxes to our rides, use them for decoration on your bikes, prizes or whatever. Her thinking is that it is a visual aid to the fundraising. We are saying yes to them. Do you guys want some too?

I presume this ride is still on ? - is there a plan B if the weather is shitty? (Friday ain't looking good and we'll see the Sat forecast tonight)

It would have been good to have had an advert in the bike section of the ODT on Sat. Could you ask BRONZ Otago to email something out to their members with email addresses? I have spoken to a few people who were completely unaware this thing was on so we all need to spread the word.

I am sure the ride is still on. hayd3n stepped up to the plate to do something after weeks of us attempting to get anything happening down there. He should be supported in his efforts to get something happening, this is his very first attempt at something like this. Perhaps you could PM him and offer some assistance?

YOU GUYS ROCK!!

I just want to thank you and hayd3n for everything you have done in organising this ride on Saturday, your support has been fantastic. I know the result will be a huge amount of money raised for your helicopter.
Lets hope this weather blows itself out before Saturday eh!

Thank you again.

Its a pity BRONZ Otago didn't get in behind this, or didn't get asked to support this, as if it had been in their monthly magazine then a lot of bikers would know about it - I think they have close to 300 members
Anyway I have stuck a post on the Big River Bikers thread and hopefully their organisers will be able to email their group.
The weather forecast isn't looking that great for Sat either which won't help. Plan B might be to do the rounds at the Pissed Penguin rally in September at Kaka Point and collect donations there.

I agree that is is sad that this was not picked up by anyone down there before this. Sadly we dont know of or have any contacts down there so did not know who to approach. We did post on your Dunedin ride thread, and also put a seperate thread up aimed at you guys, but no one saw it I guess. Too late now to say what should have been.

The weather looks appalling for Saturday, but the rides are going on regardless, all the publicity is out there, the press are geared for it, so it is happening. Of course it will be your call down there if it really turns to crap, no one wants or expects you to go out in dangerous situations.

Thank you for contacting Big River Bikers though. Perhaps when you have a moment you could PM me any contacts you have down there so that for future rides we know where to go.

I heard a forcast today that said the weather was looking like clearing on the weekend, lets hope so eh! Power to you guys down there for even considering coming out in the dead of winter...LOL Promise the next time we do this we will pick a time of year with more forendly biker weather!

In the very short time since you made the wonderful decision to respond to the call for help getting something happening down there I am totaly blowen away by what you have achieved! I am sure the publicity from your flyers and the publicity you have got in Scene (apologies to anyone I may offend by that appalling recall of what your local paper is called) will pay dividends.

A ride out from Motorcycle Replacements, leaving at 11:30 then stopping at the Mosgiel Aero Club to meet with your local rescue helicopter people, then back to MCR by 1:30 in this weather is nothing short of amazing!

Having a major computer meltdown in all of this must have been so frustrating! Thank you, and may the weather settle a little bit.

We currently have lightning and gale force winds, no rain at the moment. A slow steady pace tomorrow for us!

OK guys this ride is happening!
